Hello! My name is Laura Cain and I am a student at Nottingham University. In my spare time, I enjoy playing classical piano and musical arts. I teach classical piano to students around my neighbourhood. I often indulge in winter sports, both playing and watching. I hope to make a difference in the world one day, one small step at a time. In History, I specify in teaching Communist states, the American Civil Rights Movement, the Vietnam War, Crime and Punishment. I attended Kenilworth School and transferred to Kenilworth Sixth form afterwards. I took English Literature, modern History and Sociology for A levels. I am currently in third year, studying BA Hons Classics and Archaeology at the University of Nottingham.

Hi! I'm Sarah and I am passionate about teaching and education! The subject areas I tutor at Lower Level, GCSE and A-Level are English (Literature or Language) and History, with specialisms in Shakespeare and Mid 19th - Mid 20th Century literature, and England: 1066-1216. I have 4 years of teaching and childcare experience in a range of settings from nursery to school. In these roles, I have had specific Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) experience and training, including 2 years of 1:1 teaching with ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia, and Dyspraxia. I am currently in my final year of my BA Education Studies Degree, studying at the University of Reading. I am happy working with all age groups, with no preference as to age or level of ability. I have a passion for musical theatre and the performing arts, having performed in many shows through school and university! I love reading and music, and have an eclectic taste for both - so I'd love to swap suggestions! Coming from a family of 7 children, a single mum, a low socio-economic background, and a secondary school that was in special measures, I know how tough exams and school can be; With so much pressure, feeling held back from reaching your full potential and feeling as though you're doing it alone, exams and grades can feel impossible! Alongside my English Literature degree, I am a competitive middle-distance athlete and work within the executive team, as VP of Sport, on my college committee at the University of York. I also enjoy my role as a course ambassador, speaking to prospective students and parents at open days about studying English at Undergraduate level and university life in general. While at University, I began teaching English Literature and Language via zoom, primarily to GCSE students, with the hope of tutoring at A-Level too. My sessions are always based on the personal areas that each individual student wishes to focus on, to consolidate or enhance their understanding of the given topic. I am patient and understanding, so promise to support each student at their own pace and be not only a tutor, but also a reassuring support-system to whom they can direct any questions or queries. I hope to guide and support other students in their personal academic goals, through a focus on exam technique, revision methods and coping with the potential stress that may arise during exam season, to help get the best out of each individual. I am a third-year English Literature student at the University of York, where my modules cover an expansive geographical and temporal range from Latin Literature and the Middle Ages, to the Renaissance and 20th Century American Literature. In my A-Levels, I achieved 3x A*s in English Literature, History and Latin. In my GCSEs, I achieved a grade 9 in the following subjects: English Literature, English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Latin, History, Religious Studies and Computer Science, with an 8 in Chemistry.

Lower Level: Maths and English GCSE: Maths, Physics, Computer Science A-level: Maths, Physics and Computer Science - 4 years experience in AQA/Edexcel Physics (GCSE and A-levels combined) - 4 years experience in OCR Computer Science (GCSE and A-levels combined) - 4 years experience in Edexcel Mathematics (GCSE and A-levels combined) - Looking to tutor students currently studying their GCSEs or A-levels. I am a student currently in university studying Computer Science and looking to tutor individuals in Maths, Physics or Computer Science. For nearly 2 years, I have had experience tutoring students and being able to help support them through their studies. Alongside tutoring, I am looking to further develop my skills further and gain new experiences. I have a passion to help others succeed through the use of my own knowledge and academic studies. I also enjoy playing chess and photo-editing as well. I have obtained 10 GCSE grades in subjects such as Mathematics, English and Sciences in the range of 6 to 9. Furthermore, I have completed my A-levels in Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science achieving an A in all three subjects. Alongside my A-levels, I also obtained an A in both Chemistry AS level and from completing an EPQ project.
