Recently, I have just finished my 3rd year of Biochemistry at the University of Kent in Canterbury. Next year, I will be undertaking a year studying data analytics. I have previous experience working for a franchised tutoring firm where I learnt how to engage with students of all capabilities and ages. Hi, I am Jacob Odeh, I am a Nigerian but I live in the Turkish Republic. I love meeting people and I really love music. I have worked as Radio Presenter, an Elementary school Teacher and currently as an Online English Tutor. Over a period of time, i have come to understand that Learning a new language can be tiring or exciting depending on the applied approach. As humans, communication is a necessity in every sphere of life and to achieve success. My passion for education and cross-cultural communication prompted me to transition from a career in law to teaching English Soft Skills and Cross-Cultural Communication overseas. I have taught in-person and online classes in a variety of countries including Thailand, Malaysia, Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Russia, the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey. I specialised in teaching Young Learners, Academic English, Business and General English. I helped students acquire the ability to understand, speak, read, and write in English. I provided academic English instruction to students aiming for success in academic settings, focusing on advanced language skills, essay writing, and academic vocabulary. My experience has made me self-motivated and skilled in teaching students of various proficiency levels. I create personalised lesson plans tailored to each individual's learning goals and areas for improvement. I have a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree, which served as the foundation for my legal skills. To further my interest in justice, I pursued a Master's degree in law and comparative criminal justice, focusing on immigration and modern slavery concerns. I recently completed a CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) course to improve my English language teaching skills. My educational background demonstrates a dedication to both legal knowledge and language instruction.
