About me

My name is Janet but my students call me "Miss Jay". I am a passionate Biology teacher who has taught students from 8th to 12th grade. I am fervid about making Biology learning fun, this is whyI have adopted, adjusted, and used different strategies to ensure that my students understand and enjoy learning. As a teacher, I take time to interract, listen, and understand the peculiarities of each of my students. I don't just teach, I guide, and team up with my students to challenge and conquer their fears. With me, learning biology is as easy as learning to count 1,2,3... I obtained a second class upper division BSc degree in Microbiology and majored in Medical Microbiology in 2017 at Federal University of Lafia, Nigeria. For more academic development, I proceeded to study Public Health and ...

I have completed my Bachelors of Science degree in Mathematics at the University of Birmingham. Currently, I am studying as a postgraduate in PGCE Secondary Mathematics to become a fully qualified maths teacher at the end of this academic year. Over the course of teaching maths, I have thoroughly enjoyed encouraging and helping students to engage with the subject. My students have completed their studies not just doing well in their GCSEs, but have explained that they actually find more enjoyment and understanding in the subject. Throughout our sessions, I will use various problem solving methods to encourage students to think and explore different ideas that we will learn. This way, pupils are a lot more prepared for the interesting and challenging problems that appear on their test papers! I look forward to teaching you and growing your confidence and success in mathematics! I have graduated from the University of Birmingham with a Bsc Mathematics degree. Currently, I am studying for my PGCE in secondary maths in order to become a fully qualified maths teacher with QTS. As well as mathematics, I enjoy music and arts. I have sat the LAMDA and piano examinations up to grade 8 and bassoon exams up to grade 6.

Hi! My name is Rad and I study Medicine at the University of Leicester. I love teaching and working with people to tackle problems in creative ways, and simply passing down my knowledge I've accumulated over the years. That's why I've been involved in mentoring since the start of sixth form! I have achieved A*A*A* in my A levels (Biology, Chemistry, Maths) and 9s in my GCSEs for Maths and the Sciences respectively. I hope to meet wonderful students here, and help you understand concepts that seem daunting :) I will be teaching the curriculum, covering the specifications accurately. I have extensive knowledge of the mark schemes and what examiners are looking for, so I will also be helping you improve your exam technique. In a typical lesson, we would go through what difficulties you've been facing and try to tackle them from various angles. This includes breaking down concepts into simpler stages and working our way on top of them. I am a firm believer of having a strong foundation down, so I will make sure that your fundamental concepts are understood well. I have taught a variety of students, including from Year 9 to Year 13.
