Hi! My name is Aurora and I am a postgraduate student at the University of Manchester, studying a Masters in Development Economics. I am originally from Italy, but I moved to the UK when I was 16 and sat both my GCSEs and A Levels in London. In my GCSEs I achieved 8 A* and 4 A grades. These were the second-highest results in my cohort, despite the fact I had only been living in England for two years before sitting my exams. At sixth form, I taught myself French A Level in just one year and achieved an A grade, the highest grade in my class. I have always found learning languages an extremely rewarding, albeit sometimes frustrating process. Although languages open up doors to new ways of thinking and seeing the world around you, grasping the different aspects of a language, such as its grammar, can be demoralising. And that’s what I am here for - as a fellow language learner, I can empathise with the difficulties of this process and will do my best to make it as smooth and fun as possible. Furthermore, as a foreigner who has been through the UK education system, I am able to advise those in similar positions and facing similar challenges. Students learn in different ways, so I will adapt our lessons depending on your preferred learning style. During the introductory lesson, I will ask you questions in order to determine how you study, and your responses will shape the way I plan our future sessions. I will also be interested to know the topics you are struggling the most with, in order to give me a clearer idea of the areas I should focus on. I look forward to hearing from you! Hi, I’m Erica and I tutor GCSE Maths and Chemistry. I have a masters in Chemical Engineering from the University of Manchester and studied Maths, Chemistry and Physics at A Levels. I am very passionate about impacting young lives and encouraging an interest in STEM. I have worked as a programme manager for a mentoring programme, as a mentor for primary school children and volunteered as a helper at my sixth form homework club for GCSE students. In my spare time, I love to do yoga, travel and rollerskate.

What I will do: As a tutor I am patient and adaptable, but thorough. I would like to learn about you and your learning style so I can adapt my teaching style to you. I believe that everyone is unique in the way that they understand a topic, so if an explanation doesn't work for you, please don't hesitate to tell me. With a more solid understanding of a topic, less memorisation is required and questions start to look easy. Even questions that you aren't prepared for can be doable with the right problem solving and exam technique. I can teach a topic, help with revision or even just do drop-in sessions to solidify understanding. About me: I was lucky to be raised in a household that promoted learning, so my experience of school was working long hours, getting the validation of high grades, and classmates asking me for help. I often spent time revising with classmates and helping them with understanding, and left college with A*A*A*A in maths, further maths, physics and computer science. I also read ahead in these subjects for my EPQ (A*) and my HPQ (A). I have 2 years experience as an instructor in the CCF, and I have been a helping hand academically in Y13 as a house monitor at my boarding school. In my free time I like to do my own coding projects, read about physics & maths (yes, maths can be interesting too!), and I play/write music for the piano. Hi! I am 4th year medical student currently studying at the University of Leicester. I am a tutor who will focus on where you feel your weak spots may be and help you build confidence in those areas. I always adapt to my students style of learning so they can get the most out of their sessions ! I teach GCSE Combined Science, Biology, Chemistry and Maths. I did my GCSEs with Edexcel but I am also very comfortable with other exam boards. I also teach A Level Biology and Chemistry. At A Level I took my Biology exam using AQA and Chemistry using OCR but , again, I am comfortable with other exam boards. A bit more about me - I really enjoy listening to music and like to explore my creativity by crocheting clothes.
