I am currently studying towards a PhD in Cardiovascular Sciences. I love to read, play badminton and cook in my free time. I am hoping to continue in the field of medical research. I am keen to assist students in Maths and Biology as these are subjects I have always been passionate about. I studied at Sutton Coldfield Grammar School for both my GCSEs and my A levels. I have recently graduated with a First Class Bachelors of Science with honours degree in Genetics and Molecular Biology. I have completed an MRes in Cardiovascular Sciences in 2023 and am working towards a PhD in Bleeding Disorders with Unknown Causes.

I have a first-class bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Classics from The Open University, as well as Philosophy MA at Birkbeck University, in which I achieved a distinction. I studied a wide range of topics such as ethics, metaphysics, logic, ancient history, literature, and culture. I am currently studying for a research degree and I have always been intellectually driven and have experience in learning efficiently and effectively. My teaching style is enthusiastic, explorative, and attentive. I aim to inspire my students to discover the beauty and relevance of English Literature and Language and to help them develop their critical thinking and analytical skills. I tailor my lessons to suit the needs and interests of each student, and I provide them with detailed feedback and guidance. I teach English, as well as Philosophy and Ancient Languages (Greek and Latin), at various levels, from beginners to advanced and have a strong knowledge of GCSE and A level Syllabi. I have worked as an examiner for GCSE English Literature, so can use this experience to help student achieve peak exam performance. I believe that learning can be not only intellectually rewarding, but also enjoyable. I use a variety of resources and methods to make my lessons engaging and interactive, such as games, quizzes, videos, podcasts, key texts, and images. I also encourage my students to express their own opinions and perspectives, and to engage in lively discussions with me and with each other. I have been working as a tutor as part of the National Tutoring Scheme for the past year. In that time, I have been consistently praised for my creative, engaging and understanding approach to tuition. I have also completed a Teach First course in a Further Education environment, in which I shadowed experienced teachers, learnt about effective teaching practice, and presented my own lesson to senior educators to rave reviews. I now work at one of the highest performing sixth-forms in the country, advising students on their study skills. In year 13 I got a part-time 'job' in my school acting as a T.A for a year 9 science class, and I've never had so much fun. In my free time I love crocheting and reading, fantasy books are definitely my favourite, however my non-fiction collection remains ever growing.
