As a tutor, I am able to customise my lessons to best support the needs of my students. I also taught in secondary schools as both cover teacher and teaching assistant, which allowed me to comprehend and adhere to lesson plans in order to support the classroom teacher and individual special needs students with day-to-day instruction and learning. For KS2-KS3 students, I focus on SPaG, reading comprehension of fiction, non-fiction and poetry, and improving sentence and paragraph structure. I use positive reinforcement continuously during my sessions to motivate my students. I have extensive experience of AQA, WJEC, Edexcel and Eduqas curriculums for GCSE and Advanced level studies. I teach Ofqual’s Assessment Objectives: how to respond to texts, analyse their language, form and structure, consider the relationship between texts and contexts, and to use a wide range of vocabulary and sentence structures. Also, I help my students to understand set texts: prose, plays and poetry, and to improve their transactional and creative writing skills. I provide bespoke teaching sessions to suit students’ individual needs. I support my students through their studies to improve their confidence to answer essay and exam questions. I help students with comprehension by teaching them textual analysis to improve their interpretative skills and offer a lot of past paper practice. As well as sharing my extensive academic knowledge, I am patient with my students', who respond well to my approach and excel under my tutelage. I’m a uni student at the university of Nottingham who loves to help others by using my own education experiences to do so. I consider myself outgoing and I love to meet and talk to new people in all contexts. I like to think that I am a confident and hard working person who is able to convey ideas across and explain things clearly. These skills and attributes, I feel make me a great fit for being a personal tutor. My hobbies include sports such as football, skiing and motorsports amongst many others, as well as travel and generally anything car related.
