Hello! I'm James, 22, a final year Maths and Physics student at the University of Bath. I chose this program of study as I have always been astounded by the vast number of problems, most of which you wouldn’t expect, that have a solution that can be found with a strong understanding of both subjects! During the 23/24 academic year, I had the opportunity to complete a study year abroad at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, whilst abroad I had experience in a tutoring setting and received feedback including “created a comfortable environment” and “patient and dedicated”. This experience ignited a passion in me to explore a teaching/tutoring career as the feeling of helping someone understand difficult concepts and then aiding them to realise and achieve their potential in a subject was second to none. I believe the learning process should be enjoyable and engaging, to do this I like to build a friendly yet professional relationship with students so that they feel confident and comfortable enough to raise concerns so that we can try different teaching styles and methods to suit their needs best. I am dedicated to helping students reach their full potential and ensuring they leave every session feeling fulfilled and educated. In my free time, I love to play various card and board games as well as running. I attended a local state school in my hometown to complete my GCSEs and A-levels and I am currently a final year student at the University of Bath. I have also worked for a number of large firms as an accountant or an analyst, so have experienced business theory working in practice. I am also a CELTA qualified EFL teacher, and have spent a great deal of my life working or living abroad in countries including Saudi Arabia, France, Turkey, the United States and Japan. For personal pursuits, I enjoy travelling, playing the piano, visiting the gym, watching Clemson University's college football team and PC gaming. I hold a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Clemson University (South Carolina, USA). My undergraduate degree is a BA (Hons) in English, awarded by Loughborough University in 2003. After leaving university, I achieved my CELTA certification, and worked in Japan teaching English. Later, I had a career change and started to work for a global investment bank, and have worked as a financial analyst, economic analyst and management accountant. I have CTLLS and DTLLS teaching qualifications, which I earned while teaching BTEC subjects at college.

Hello! I'm a Chemical Engineering student at the University of Birmingham with a passion for learning and helping others. When I'm not immersed in my studies, I enjoy dancing and playing badminton to stay active and refreshed. I'm excited about the opportunity to tutor and share my knowledge, aiming to make complex subjects more understandable and enjoyable for my students. I completed my A-levels at Archbishop Ilsley Catholic School, where I studied Maths, Physics, and Chemistry, achieving grades of A*, A*, and A respectively. Additionally, I completed an AS-Level in Further Maths, earning an A grade. Currently, I am a student at the University of Birmingham, entering my third year of studying Chemical Engineering. My strong foundation in the sciences and mathematics, combined with my university experience, equips me with a deep understanding of the subjects I tutor.
