Hi, I’m Amelia Hope, an enthusiastic and dedicated math teacher! I enjoy making math simple and approachable while building confidence and curiosity in my students. I bring lessons to life with real-world applications, interactive activities, and fun challenges that make learning exciting. Outside of teaching, I love playing chess, which sharpens my problem-solving skills, and experimenting with baking and cooking, where I embrace creativity and growth. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, where I built a strong foundation in problem-solving, logical thinking, and core mathematical principles. My studies equipped me with the ability to simplify complex concepts, connect lessons to real-life situations, and make learning meaningful. I am also TEFL-certified, which has strengthened my skills in communication, lesson planning, and adapting to diverse learning styles. I’m a medical student with a passion for teaching Biology, Science, and Maths at primary and GCSE levels. Almost 10 years in higher education, I’ve learned two key things: 1) Every student can succeed with the right teaching approach, and 2) Learning should be active, using techniques like spaced repetition and active recall. I focus on breaking down complex topics, using examples, mnemonics, and past papers to help students understand. I’m patient and adaptable, always ready to find new ways to explain concepts if needed. Outside of academics, I’m passionate about sports, gaming, and tech. I’ve coached an under-15 basketball team and teach guitar at my church, which helps me connect with students and build trust to boost their confidence and performance. I graduated from Glasgow in 2020 with a 2:1 in Biomedical Sciences and am currently pursuing a medical degree. My strong academic background in Maths, Biology, Chemistry, English, and Geography enables me to offer well-rounded and insightful tutoring.
