I am a recent graduate having studied environmental science and wildlife conservation, with a passion for protecting and preserving nature for future generations. My science background has provided essential knowledge for tutoring biology. I enjoy teaching young people and supporting them to reach their full potential, whilst inspiring them to dream big. I am a patient person and understand that every student is different, therefore I will tailor sessions to individual needs. ABOUT ME I have a deep interest in history, human and physical geography, anthropology, technology, architecture and engineering. I especially enjoy the history and geography of languages and language families. In my free time I am a keen traveler, audiophile and technophile, with a love for all kinds of technologies, analogue and digital, new and old. Thanks to COVID I learnt a lot of DIY skills by necessity. My house also has a garden full of fruit trees, so I guess that would make me an amateur gardener by default. I try to keep fit by cycling when possible, but my favourite sport is swimming. TEACHING EXPERIENCE/PREFERENCES The subjects I teach are History, English Literature and Language, as well as TEFL English. I tend to teach students aged 14+, so from Year 9 to Year 13 or older, but I do have a few students younger than this. I cover mainly GCSE's and A-level's, as well as TEFL English for any age if these students happen to come up. I use a variety of teaching approaches, ranging from traditional methods of text analysis to modern forms of teaching, such as interactive quizzes, questionairres and even YouTube videos if they benefit the students learning style. Exam Board Experience: AQA, Edexcel and OCR in the main. WJEC/Eduqas to a lesser extent. Languages:- English: as a first language to advanced level. Turkish: fluent to college level.

Hello! My name is Hajra Yaqub and I am a medical student going into second year. I have a passion for teaching GCSE and A-level students and teaching students the tips and tricks I have learnt over the years to make concepts easier to understand and apply. I plan to use a friendly and encouraging teaching approach, as I want my classroom to be a space where my students feel comfortable to ask questions and make mistakes, as this is how we learn best. I also plan to incorporate a lot of opportunities to practice exam-style questions so my students can feel more familiar when it comes to exams. I have 11 GCSES and 3 A-levels in which I have achieved all A* grades. My GCSEs consisted of the core subjects as well as Business Studies, Spanish, Geography, Latin and Further Mathematics. The A-levels I undertook were in Biology, Chemistry and Spanish. I am currently a medical student going into second year in September.
