Hello! I’m Christhony Mark D. Payat, a licensed Mechanical Engineer with a strong commitment to education and a deep passion for sharing knowledge. Over the past two years, I’ve been privileged to work as a math tutor, guiding students through challenging concepts and helping them achieve not only academic success but also a greater sense of confidence and independence in their studies. I aim to foster a positive learning environment where students feel encouraged to reach their full potential. Outside of teaching, I am an enthusiastic pianist and a dedicated chess player, hobbies that enrich my creativity and enhance my analytical skills—qualities I bring directly into my teaching approach. With over 60 students in 2024, I’ve developed a unique program to support them both theoretically and practically in their language and literature studies. Simply put, I know what I'm doing. Language is not just a tool for communication, it's rather a reflection of how we see ourselves, our world and culture. I recently published my thesis on sexism and gender bias to help promote social justice by teaching politically correct language. In light of my recent research I learned that each student has a unique mind and uses different techniques to learn. Hence, my responsibility entails guiding each individual to unlock their complete potential. In my free time, I’m captivated by football, traveling, and a bit of gaming, which provides a refreshing break from my scholarly activities.

I am a first-year student at the University of Liverpool studying International Relations. I went to school in Birmingham and studied History, English Literature and Economics A-level. I have a strong interest in the humanities, especially politics. I went to a Grammar school for my secondary and sixth form education so I have specific knowledge of the 11+ exam.
