Hi there! I’m Lorraine Llagas 👩‍🏫 A Passionate Educator. I’ve spent several years in the teaching profession, with most of my career dedicated to teaching Philosophy at the tertiary level. For the past 8 years, I’ve been sharing my love for Social Science with senior high school students. Outside the classroom, I’m passionate about lifelong learning and personal growth. I enjoy seeking new knowledge and skills, diving into various genres of books, striving for self-improvement, staying active and healthy, and exploring new places and cultures. 🎓 My Educational Journey Graduated from the University of Sto. Tomas with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics. Pursued graduate studies in Philosophy at Ateneo de Manila University. I am a dedicated licensed professional teacher with a strong commitment to making Math, English, and Science engaging and accessible for all students. With a background in both education and public administration, I strive to create an inclusive and dynamic learning environment that encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and boosts students' confidence. I hold a Bachelor of Secondary Education, majoring in Mathematics, Licensed Professional Teacher and am a TEFL-certified educator. My education has equipped me with a strong foundation in mathematical concepts, effective teaching strategies, and classroom management techniques. I have also gained valuable experience teaching diverse learners in subjects such as Math, English, and Science.

About me I love to travel, explore new places and meet people from different cultures. I spent ten years living in Athens, Greece where I worked as a private tutor: teaching TEFL to a wide variety of people - from complete beginners to students wishing to take Cambridge Proficiency exams in order to access UK universities. I have a BA Hons degree in Modern Languages: English/French with a module in Classical Greek Language and Literature. I believe in stress-free lessons , and learning in a relaxed setting. As a tutor I am not there to add pressure, but to help take pressure off. In terms of hobbies, I love reading, writing stories, and watching Turkish TV dramas. I am also a huge tennis fan. Last, but not least, I enjoy all forms of sugar - especially cake! Aside from my degree, I am qualified to teach TEFL. I really enjoy working with those who don't have English as a first language. It's a thrill to help them improve their speaking and listening - as well as reading and writing skills. It's wonderful to see them grow in confidence when expressing themselves in English. Furthermore, I am qualified to do proofreading. This fits in well with teaching English. I also have a certificate in Counselling Skills.

I teach Trigonometry and Geometry. I also conduct lectures for Mechanical engineering students so I can teach engineering related physics such as mechanics, dynamics, kinematics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer. Preferred age group: KS3, College/University level Languages: I am fluent in English and I can speak a little Japanese. My background: I am a practicing Mechanical Engineer and I have University lecturing experience. More than theoretical concepts, I can also cover practical problems applying the use of math, physics, or combined STEM subjects. Hobbies: I like sports, gaming, charcoal painting, and anime. I am an enthusiast of VR technology and I actively play VR games in my Quest 2 VR console. I am a relaxed and fun teacher. I believe that learning should be fun and a student should not be under strict pressure all the time. For me, learning is a two-way communication process, I need to understand the student first before the student can understand my lesson. I create interactive learning activities and I find ways to make learning easier for every student. Lastly, I guide students to reach their learning goals and further equip them with knowledge that will be useful for their future career. I have a diploma in Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. I studied my degree in Bulacan State University. I passed the Licensure Exam for Mechanical Engineering and I am currently a practicing Licensed Mechanical Engineer. I worked as a Technical Service Engineer in Copeland(Emerson) for over two years. I honed my critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills in this job. I also lectured in the College of Engineering of Bulacan State University for more than 2 years. I taught engineering courses and applied the concepts of various STEM subjects such as physics, algebra, trigonometry, geometry, and calculus.
