With extensive experience teaching a wide range of subjects, I have developed interdisciplinary methods that make learning both enjoyable and relevant. I have a first-class bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Classics from The Open University, as well as Philosophy MA at Birkbeck University, in which I achieved a distinction. I studied a wide range of topics such as ethics, metaphysics, logic, ancient history, literature, and culture. I am currently studying for a research degree and I have always been intellectually driven and have experience in learning efficiently and effectively. My teaching style is enthusiastic, explorative, and attentive. I aim to inspire my students to discover the beauty and relevance of English Literature and Language and to help them develop their critical thinking and analytical skills. I tailor my lessons to suit the needs and interests of each student, and I provide them with detailed feedback and guidance. I teach English, as well as Philosophy and Ancient Languages (Greek and Latin), at various levels, from beginners to advanced and have a strong knowledge of GCSE and A level Syllabi. I have worked as an examiner for GCSE English Literature, so can use this experience to help student achieve peak exam performance. I believe that learning can be not only intellectually rewarding, but also enjoyable. I use a variety of resources and methods to make my lessons engaging and interactive, such as games, quizzes, videos, podcasts, key texts, and images. I also encourage my students to express their own opinions and perspectives, and to engage in lively discussions with me and with each other. I have been working as a tutor as part of the National Tutoring Scheme for the past year. In that time, I have been consistently praised for my creative, engaging and understanding approach to tuition. I have also completed a Teach First course in a Further Education environment, in which I shadowed experienced teachers, learnt about effective teaching practice, and presented my own lesson to senior educators to rave reviews. I now work at one of the highest performing sixth-forms in the country, advising students on their study skills. I am a highly motivated individual, who has recently graduated with a BSc Law degree at Aston University. I have always loved the idea of teaching and have previous experience to portray this. I volunteered at Hamilton special school whilst studying at Sixth Form as well as tutoring younger students in my school. It was a rewarding experience which is why I have decided to tutor students part time. The subjects in which I am interested in tutoring are as follows: English Language and Literature at Secondary school level English Language and Literature to adult learners English as a foreign language to all ages As for my GCSE results, I received an A* for English language and an A for English literature. For my A-levels I studied English language and literature where I obtained a grade B. I have also recently completed my BSc Law degree and graduated in July. I will be working towards my masters in September.
