For about 5 years and with 4000+ hours of teaching experience, I have helped several students turn their grades around in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Maths for Gcse and A-Levels. I have an ESL certification (TESOL) which helps me communicate best with non-native speakers. I love traveling, movies, football, and tennis. Bachelors in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical sciences. I love engineering because it allows me to use my creativity, analytical skills, and knowledge of science and technology to create innovative solutions that can benefit society. As a tutor, my goal is to help students understand and enjoy engineering as much as I do. I believe that anyone can learn engineering with the right guidance and motivation. I will provide my students with the necessary tools, resources, and support to help them achieve their goals. My teaching style is student-centred, meaning that I tailor my approach to the individual needs and learning styles of each student. I use a combination of lectures, examples, and hands-on exercises to help students understand the concepts and develop the skills needed to succeed in engineering. I am also a firm believer in the power of practice and feedback. I encourage my students to practice their skills regularly and provide constructive feedback to help them improve. Over the past 3 years as a tutor, I have worked with students ranging from Key Stage 2 to A-levels, in subjects including maths, physics, chemistry and biology. I have tutored primary school children struggling with basic numeracy and literacy skills, helping boost their confidence and abilities in the core subjects. For KS3 students, I have assisted with more advanced maths concepts and science topics in physics and chemistry to help them improve grades and tackle difficult material. At the GCSE level, I have experience tutoring all three sciences - chemistry, biology and physics - along with higher level mathematics. My tutoring approach has focused on filling in gaps in students' knowledge, teaching effective study habits and providing plenty of practice with past exam papers. More recently, I have begun tutoring A-level students in maths, physics and chemistry. At this advanced academic stage, my tutoring often focuses on ensuring strong foundations across all topics and teaching advanced problem-solving abilities. I have tutored students both privately and through platforms like MyTutor, Wisefox and Tutoring4You. Working independently and through these tutoring companies has allowed me to gain experience with a diverse range of ages and subjects. I find that my broad 3 years of experience has made me highly adaptable and has enhanced my tutoring skills. Alongside my English Literature degree, I am a competitive middle-distance athlete and work within the executive team, as VP of Sport, on my college committee at the University of York. I also enjoy my role as a course ambassador, speaking to prospective students and parents at open days about studying English at Undergraduate level and university life in general. While at University, I began teaching English Literature and Language via zoom, primarily to GCSE students, with the hope of tutoring at A-Level too. My sessions are always based on the personal areas that each individual student wishes to focus on, to consolidate or enhance their understanding of the given topic. I am patient and understanding, so promise to support each student at their own pace and be not only a tutor, but also a reassuring support-system to whom they can direct any questions or queries. I hope to guide and support other students in their personal academic goals, through a focus on exam technique, revision methods and coping with the potential stress that may arise during exam season, to help get the best out of each individual. I am a third-year English Literature student at the University of York, where my modules cover an expansive geographical and temporal range from Latin Literature and the Middle Ages, to the Renaissance and 20th Century American Literature. In my A-Levels, I achieved 3x A*s in English Literature, History and Latin. In my GCSEs, I achieved a grade 9 in the following subjects: English Literature, English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Latin, History, Religious Studies and Computer Science, with an 8 in Chemistry.
