About me: Hi there! I'm Luke and I am a tutor of French (up to A-level), English Literature and Language (up to GCSE). I have been tutoring online since May 2021, and I have lots of experience helping students to reach their goals and realise their true potential. I'm currently studying at Sorbonne Université in Paris. and I'm incredibly enthusiastic about learning, travelling and getting to know people of all backgrounds. I'm a fluent speaker of French, having also previously lived in Québec. I believe in tailoring tutoring sessions to students' specific needs, and I also believe that it is impossible to learn effectively if you aren't enjoying the process of learning itself. I am proud to offer a casual and supportive environment where students can ask questions, reflect and be curious whilst also using science-backed learning strategies. I am especially experienced with tutoring AQA GCSE English Literature and Language, but have experience with tutoring all ages from KS1 up to KS5 and have an incredibly flexible approach to my teaching. Students are welcome to bring their own work to our sessions, or I can provide resources that I feel will help students to reach their goals.

I am a friendly, patient and determined tutor. I recently finished my A-levels in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Further Maths. I believe that this experience puts me in a great position to share my knowledge to help other students because I know what is needed in order to excel in these subjects. I always like to focus on what you as a student need help with to ensure that you get the most out of every lesson, and spend as much time making progress as possible I would describe myself as methodical and systematic and I think my teaching style reflects this. First, I like to ensure that there is an understanding of the key principles of the topic. Then I like to break questions down and look at the key steps in the method for that question type. I think that repetition is extremely important and the key to mastering a particular topic is encountering as many different variations of questions as possible. So this is what I will encourage. I have previous experience teaching other students from my school A-level maths concepts which they struggled with. While preparing for A-levels I created some resources that enabled me to achieve 4 A*s in the subjects above and have helped other students. I would be happy to share these and other strategies I used in preparation for exams. Outside of academics, I am a relaxed person and enjoy a wide range of sports, my favourites being football and basketball. I also enjoy reading and spending time with family.
