I now live in semi-retirement near London, in Surrey. I have been a Headteacher, Principal, Deputy Head, Head of Department and classroom practitioner throughout this time. I have taught students who are academically gifted and talented, struggling with mental or medical health issues as well as those who are disaffected with education. I have always retained a passionate enthusiasm to facilitate learning and enhance the lives of those I consider a privilege to invest time with. When I'm not helping others with their learning, I enjoy time with loved ones engaging in physical pursuits like swimming, cycling, and cooking. I have a range of qualifications, outlined below. I specialise in medieval/early modern literature and history. Have written a novel on Mary Tudor, Queen of France. Grade 6 piano player. Interested in editing - incl. SPaG, issues of clarity, and developmental. Pre-publication book reviewer. Love travelling to new places. Year 2 English/History student at the University of York. Achieved A*A*AA in A-Level English Literature, History, Religious Studies, and EPQ. Won the Mary Stuart Award for English Literature, the Historical Association’s Historical Fiction Writing Competion, and highly commended in the NCH History Essay Competition 2021.

My name is Mashika, and I am a civil engineer and a have also worked as a middle school and high school teacher at Villa Grimani International School. I have a robust educational background that includes a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and a Master's degree in Complex Systems Engineering that I am currently pursuing. Additionally, I am passionate about child psychology and have read extensively on the subject to deepen my understanding of how children learn. This has truly shaped my teaching style which involves alot of interactive discussions and problem solving which in turn leads to increased self confidence and reasoning ability in students. Throughout my teaching journey, I have had the privilege of tutoring students of different ages and backgrounds in subjects such as Math, Chemistry, and Biology. This experience has strengthened my teaching skills, especially when it comes to understanding different student learning styles. I have found it fascinating to see how students grasp new concepts when they are related to real-life analogies. I am currently in my second year studying BSc Biomedical Science. I am eager to help out pupils struggling with science! I have developed a number of great techniques that worked for me from GCSE up to A-level . Don’t worry, you’re in great hands. I’m organised, hard-working and love a challenge. But most importantly a current student😁! I have 8 GCSE’s with grade 7s in English Maths and Science.Other GCSEs include an 8 in French and History.
