My name is Janet but my students call me "Miss Jay". I am a passionate Biology teacher who has taught students from 8th to 12th grade. I am fervid about making Biology learning fun, this is whyI have adopted, adjusted, and used different strategies to ensure that my students understand and enjoy learning. As a teacher, I take time to interract, listen, and understand the peculiarities of each of my students. I don't just teach, I guide, and team up with my students to challenge and conquer their fears. With me, learning biology is as easy as learning to count 1,2,3... I obtained a second class upper division BSc degree in Microbiology and majored in Medical Microbiology in 2017 at Federal University of Lafia, Nigeria. For more academic development, I proceeded to study Public Health and obtained an MA in Public Health from Nottingham Trent University, United Kingdom. From 2018 to 2019, I worked as a 8th grade Biology teacher at Lys academy, Bauchi state Nigeria. From 2019 to 2023, I worked a research assistant at Brainbox Research Institute Ghana. From 2023 till date, I work as a Support worker supporting children with learning at Thera East-Midlands. However, I'm also a partime online tutor providing online teaching services to my students from 2020 till date.

Hi! I'm Jenna, a recently graduated Psychology student with a passion for learning and helping others achieve their full potential. As a determined problem-solver, I have always loved maths - the satisfaction I get from solving a particularly difficult problem is what makes it my favourite! From solving algebraic equations in early GCSE to working out financial budgets for my university life, maths has always been exciting for me. Hopefully I can share this passion with you, and have some fun along the way. I have some tutoring experience across a range of contexts, from helping year 7s struggling with secondary school maths topics, to regularly assisting university students with psychology questions. At the forefront of my focus is a student's inherent grasp of the topic. I will continually check your understanding, and I am willing to approach the topic from a different angle in order to elevate your understanding and knowledge. I am determined to help you in any way that I can so you can achieve your personal academic goals and importantly, boost your confidence in your own mathematical ability. There are no stupid questions in lessons with me - I will encourage you to stick with it and keep asking for help and guidance until you could do it in your sleep! It's not always about top grades: a solid understanding of mathematical concepts and familiarity with numerical rules come first, but good marks almost always come hand in hand with this. Hello! I’m Teacher Nest, and with over two years of experience teaching English as a second language, I’m passionate about fostering a love for learning. My teaching philosophy emphasizes critical thinking and creativity through engaging projects and collaborative activities. I create an inclusive, welcoming classroom where every student feels valued and confident. My specialties are speaking classes, meaning I encourage the students to express themselves more in a non-restrictive environment to hone their fluency in English speaking that would be very useful in either their educational goals and or other endeavors outside of a classroom setting (e.g. travelling abroad, work meetings, meeting new people from diverse backgrounds, and etc...) Outside the classroom, I enjoy reading Shakespeare and participating in law debates, which enriches my lessons with real-world insights. I’m also active in my School of Law Debate Team, which has enhanced my approach to student engagement and development.
