Hi, I'm Phila-Mae Arcenal, a TEFL-certified teacher with nearly six years of experience, including three years of online teaching. One of my most rewarding experiences has been tutoring a Korean student since she was seven—now at 13, we cover English and other school subjects. Teaching is my passion, and I love creating engaging lessons that help students grow and succeed. Each interaction is a chance to learn and make a positive impact on my students’ education. Hi, I am a first year law student at the University of Warwick. I have a strong passion for humans which led me to pursue law as a degree. I thoroughly enjoyed studying psychology during A Levels and have developed a deep passion for the subject. As a result, I want to share that passion with other students and help them achieve their academic goals I tailor each lesson for my students to ensure they learn in a proactive way to retain the knowledge. I am an English Literature graduate from the University of Birmingham. I really enjoy English and it can be a really fun subject to learn as well as teach. I found that at school my teachers made the subject enjoyable, so much so that I got a grade 9 in my English Literature GCSE and a grade 8 in English Language as well as a grade A in my English Literature A-level and a 2:1 in my English Literature degree. Therefore, I aim to help students improve their grades by making learning enjoyable because when something is difficult to learn it can be difficult to want to understand and persevere. As a tutor, it is important to understand areas of struggle and help to adapt them in a way more accessible to the student. I have achieved 10 GCSEs, in which I received: 1 Grade 9 in English Literature, 4 Grade 8’s (1 Grade 8 being in English Language), 3 Grade 7’s and 2 Grade 6’s. I have also achieved 3 A-levels and received: an A* in Religion, Philosophy and Ethics, an A in English Literature and a B in German.
