Hello! I’m an experienced English Language and Literature tutor and an English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher with over five years of teaching experience. For the past three years, I’ve also successfully prepared students for the 11+ exam. I hold a First Class Honours BA in English and American Literature from the University of Kent, Canterbury, and a TESOL certification from Arizona State University. Currently, I’m working on my master’s thesis in Educational Studies at KU Leuven University in Belgium. Personal Interests: I’m an avid reader and love writing poetry in my spare time. I enjoy staying active and trying out new hobbies—right now, I’m getting into cross training. At home, I’m kept company by two friendly and playful cats! About me- I am a Medical Student, who loves learning and trying new things. Currently I am teaching myself the violin! I love dancing and playing netball in my free time. I am a postgraduate student, studying Genomic Medicine MSc. I completed my degree in Biomedical Science BSc in 2020. I studied Biology, Chemistry, and Politics at A-level. My name's Isabelle and I'm here to help learning fun and rewarding! I love learning and would love to share that passion with my students, whether it's for English, French or German, my three specialities. I have previously taught English in the classroom as a foreign language, an experience which I bring to my tutoring sessions, delivering engaging, fun and constructive classes. I am currently studying a Masters in Translation and Professional Language Skills at the University of Bath, having graduated in 2022 with a first class degree in French and German. At A-level, I studied English Literature, French and Psychology, receiving AAA* respectively. My studies have also given me a strong understanding of the two cultures, involving studies in the literature, linguistics, history, art and even cinema of France and Germany. I know how to craft a strong essay as this also formed a core part of my assessment, alongside language exams. I graduated with a First Class honours and Distinction in Spoken German. At college I studied English, French and Psychology, passing with excellent grades (A, A, A*) thanks to tireless hours of revision. I also completed an EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) in English Literature during this time, so I am happy to provide support in this area too. At GCSE level I achieved 7 A*s (including in English Literature, Language and French) and 3 As.
