Hello! I've been a tutor three years now, helping dozens of students. If you are interested, I'd be happy to put you in contact with some of them so that you can chat about anything you're interested. I'll work with you in conversation, which'll brings us intellectually close to each other. This allows empathy to guide the learning process. One of the challenges I often face is answering an insightful question. If I'm not able to do it independently, I focus on relating to you through a simpler concept we are both familiar with. By breaking this concept down into smaller pieces and unveiling our own understanding of it, we enlighten ourselves. The thing I enjoy most about teaching is learning about you. I help with a tough concept or methodology by relating my presentation to how you reckon already known matters. This process will familiarize us with your subject's topics. This is the reason why we'll mostly avoid memorizing stuff. - Do you find lectures boring? If so, you'll find my lessons a perfect fit! Our lessons won't be old-school. Whether you're cutting your teeth with tuition or not, you'll be in conversation with me. As your tutor, I'll share thoughts back and forth and build our understanding of your subject's concepts and methods. - Do you find yourself in stupor at school? From our very first class, I'll lead you to explore and become your own coach, so that you can see results after the first two weeks. We don't need to learn by heart most of the things required to pass with flying colors. As your mentor, I pursue with fervor the breaking down of concepts and getting to the bottom of them. Once we achieve this, you won't have to revise said concepts ever again. - What if you find exams particularly tough? Isn't it annoying when you know the material but still can't get those marks? I offer exam preparation and methods to get those precious marks. We'll read the questions together and work on writing expression. I completed Secondary School in Life Sciences and hold a Vocational School Diploma in Biomedical Science. I took first-year University courses in Chemistry and Engineering. These included subjects like Physics, Biology, Statistics, Algebra, Calculus, etc. Lastly, I'm a self-taught personal trainer. Throughout this particular academic endeavour, I studied biomechanics and anatomy, with a solid knowledge of their application to weightlifting.

In addition to my expertise in language and literature, I’ve also excelled in physics, consistently achieving strong results and helping students grasp complex concepts with ease. About Me Language is not just a tool for communication, it's rather a reflection of how we see ourselves, our world and culture. I recently published my thesis on sexism and gender bias to help promote social justice by teaching politically correct language. In light of my recent research I learned that each student has a unique mind and uses different techniques to learn. Hence, my responsibility entails guiding each individual to unlock their complete potential. Hi! I’m Catherine Solomon, a tutor passionate about turning tricky concepts into “aha!” moments. I teach Chemistry, Math, Science, Physics, and English, breaking down complex topics into simple steps. My goal is to create a positive space where learning is fun, clear, and rewarding! I hold a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering, where I honed problem-solving skills and discovered a passion for teaching as a part-time tutor in Chemistry, Math, Science, and Physics. I’ve also taught English to diverse learners, helping students confidently achieve their academic goals.

I am an experienced Mathematics & Computer Science tutor. With my last cohort of students, I witnessed exponential improvements with students fluency and confidence. I have over three years experience in teaching. I have extensive teaching experience with students aged 5 – 18 and I have helped students to obtain the highest grades at KS1 – KS3 & GCSE. I can also provide coaching for career related advice and support with college and university applications. I hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate. As well as using published materials, I provide bespoke materials for students based on examination questions so that they are able to develop their mathematical or computer science fluency and problem-solving skills. At the end of each session, students receive detailed notes of work covered, either in Word, PowerPoint or Microsoft Whiteboard format. I aim to make my sessions engaging, bringing in interactive elements and whiteboards as much as possible especially for my younger students in order to create a simulated, real-life fun experience with each hour. I hold a 1st Class Degree in Computer Science from The University of Birmingham. I also completed Maths, Computer Science and Economics A-levels, attaining an AAB respectively. I also hold strong GCSE grades covering Maths, English, Science, History and particularly completing ICT at a a grade A*
