Hello everyone! I'm Teacher Sheila and I'm excited to be your math teacher this year! Math can be challenging, but it's also a powerful tool for solving real-world problems and thinking critically. Together, we'll explore concepts, solve puzzles, and build skills that will serve you in countless ways. I’m here to make math fun, accessible, and rewarding, and I can’t wait to see all the amazing things you’ll accomplish. Let’s dive in and discover the world of math together! I graduated with a Bachelor of Secondary Education, majoring in Mathematics, in 2013 and later completed a Master of Education in Mathematics in 2018. With a decade of teaching experience, I am dedicated to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment that encourages students to reach their full academic potential. I utilize a variety of instructional techniques and materials, including online resources, to accommodate diverse learning styles and ensure that each student has the tools they need to succeed. My approach focuses on guiding students toward their educational goals, whether transitioning to postsecondary education, pursuing vocational paths, or achieving personal growth. I continuously assess and document both the academic and social progress of my students, maintaining thorough records and analyzing data to inform my teaching strategies. To keep parents and guardians involved, I communicate regularly through multiple channels and hold conferences as needed to discuss individual progress, aligning with school requirements and ensuring a collaborative approach to each student's development.

I teach Trigonometry and Geometry. I also conduct lectures for Mechanical engineering students so I can teach engineering related physics such as mechanics, dynamics, kinematics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer. Preferred age group: KS3, College/University level Languages: I am fluent in English and I can speak a little Japanese. My background: I am a practicing Mechanical Engineer and I have University lecturing experience. More than theoretical concepts, I can also cover practical problems applying the use of math, physics, or combined STEM subjects. Hobbies: I like sports, gaming, charcoal painting, and anime. I am an enthusiast of VR technology and I actively play VR games in my Quest 2 VR console. I am a relaxed and fun teacher. I believe that learning should be fun and a student should not be under strict pressure all the time. For me, learning is a two-way communication process, I need to understand the student first before the student can understand my lesson. I create interactive learning activities and I find ways to make learning easier for every student. Lastly, I guide students to reach their learning goals and further equip them with knowledge that will be useful for their future career. I have a diploma in Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. I studied my degree in Bulacan State University. I passed the Licensure Exam for Mechanical Engineering and I am currently a practicing Licensed Mechanical Engineer. I worked as a Technical Service Engineer in Copeland(Emerson) for over two years. I honed my critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills in this job. I also lectured in the College of Engineering of Bulacan State University for more than 2 years. I taught engineering courses and applied the concepts of various STEM subjects such as physics, algebra, trigonometry, geometry, and calculus.

✩GoStudent Tutor of the Year – 2025 Award ✩English Subject Superstar Award – Most Nominations 2025 PhD Student & English Teacher English Tutor (year 6+) SEN Tutor (Dyslexia Focus) – No Experience with ASD or Other SEN -Preferred Age Group: Above Year 6 (Native & EFL/ESL) -Main Focus: AQA/OCR/Edexcel GCSE, AS, and A Levels -IELTS exam board In my four years of teaching, I’ve observed that most GCSE students overlook the contextual understanding of literary texts, struggle with language and structure analysis, and often face challenges with time management. With over 60 students in 2024, I’ve developed a unique program that addresses both the theoretical and practical aspects of language and literature studies. Over the past 3 years, I’ve helped more than 110 students achieve at least a grade 7 in their GCSEs. Simply put, I know what I'm doing. In addition to my expertise in language and literature, I’ve also excelled in physics, consistently achieving strong results and helping students grasp complex concepts with ease. About Me Language is not just a tool for communication, it's rather a reflection of how we see ourselves, our world and culture. I recently published my thesis on sexism and gender bias to help promote social justice by teaching politically correct language. In light of my recent research I learned that each student has a unique mind and uses different techniques to learn. Hence, my responsibility entails guiding each individual to unlock their complete potential. In my free time, I’m captivated by football, traveling, and a bit of gaming, which provides a refreshing break from my scholarly activities. ✩Valedictorian Education: PhD Candidate MA High distinction researcher: Sociopragmatics & Classroom Research ✩Attained the top position in Bachelor's degree studies specializing in English Linguistics and Literature ✩Secured the highest ranking in both Masters 1 and Masters 2 studies focusing on Linguistic Research ✩Holder of a Bachelor's degree in Education and recipient of a Teaching Diploma (Masters 1) Participation in Seminars/Webinars: • Oxford University Press' Webinar on Writing Approaches with Fusion in Mind • Noam Chomsky's Webinar addressing Modern Linguistics • Stephen Krashen's Webinar discussing Writing and Publishing • The Art of Complaint: Managing Conflicts • Nonviolent Communication • Exploring Linguistic Controversies • Conducted a seminar focused on the topic of Linguistic Sexism
