Hi there! I am an experienced and empathetic English Literature and Language tutor with over 5 years of experience and many success stories under my belt. I have experience teaching English Literature and English Language for the following levels and exam boards: A-Level— AQA, OCR, WJEC Eduqas; GCSE— AQA, OCR, WJEC Eduqas; Key Stage 3, as well as the 11+ exams. I'm also very interested in tutoring students at the undergraduate level. I only (fluently) speak English, and I do not have any SEN tutoring experience. My approach to tutoring is student centric, with a focus on developing skills via scaffolding. I encourage participation and employ multimedia learning tools when and where appropriate. Empathy and support are the cornerstones of a good classroom experience, so I am highly patient with all of my students and try to structure my tutoring to build on their schoolwork and complement their existing learning. My proudest moments are when something has 'clicked' for one of my students that they have previously struggled with in class! In my spare time, I (predictably) enjoy reading, walking and listening to podcasts, but I'm also an enthusiastic home cook, amateur forager and volunteer at a local art gallery. I have something of a tech-y side also, and I've been known to tinker with computers and play videogames (usually on the artsier side)! In 2021, I graduated from the English Master's programme at the University of Liverpool with a strong Distinction and a highly commended dissertation. I had also previously completed a BA at UoL, and received As and A*s in my English Literature A-Level and GCSEs. My Master's degree specialised in contemporary and modern literature, but I love Victorian, Renaissance and classic lit too! I'm a bit of a nerd for literary theory and poetry in particular (my MA dissertation even drew on my experience of teaching poetry to young people).

My name is Alwiya and I am a 3rd year Biomedical Sciences student at King's College London, specialising specifically in Neuropharmacology. I have studied biology, chemistry, maths, and psychology at A-Level and achieved 4A*s. At GCSE, I achieved 9 grade 9s and 2 grade 7s. My name is Yogya and I am a Mathematics student at the University of Oxford. Over the past few years, I have deeply indulged myself in mathematical and scientific analysis through books, lectures, discussions, and teaching. My intense exposure to critical analysis and problem-solving makes it easier for my tutees to understand difficult concepts and ideologies. Through my online tutoring experience, I have supported students by providing them individualized attention and helping them build a strong understanding of core subjects as well as boosting their confidence! Currently, I am doing Masters in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. As I am a Mechanical Engineer, I have extensive knowledge in subjects like maths and physics.
