Hello! I'm Maddy, I'm 23 years old currently completing my Master's in Public Health at Cardiff University. I completed my undergraduate degree in Population Health and Medical Sciences at Swansea University, where I obtained First Class Honours. My hobbies and interests include health and fitness... primarily because I also love to bake. I also enjoy reading and socializing with friends! My guilty pleasures include: binge watching TV series (usually the same ones over and over again) and scrolling through TikTok for hours on end. I can assure you that whilst I loved studying biology, it wasn't without its challenges. I have first hand experience in building confidence for both day-to-day lessons and preparing for all aspects of exams. I myself, was tutored for A-level Biology, an experience that proved invaluable in aiding my understanding and providing tools for self directed study across all subject areas. This transpired onto my further academic studying as well. I endeavor to not only aid in the learning of a subject but also reflect and teach these fundamental tools in the tuition I provide. It would be great to help another student, whatever their age or aspirations for their chosen subject may be. I have completed my GCSEs and A - Levels with top grades and have experience teaching mathematics from primary to GCSE level. My approach is all about building the confidence of my pupils. I focus on exam preparation in every lesson so the student understands what to expect in the real exams as well as dedicating sessions to tackle worded problems and showing the best techniques to solve them. My easy and friendly tutoring style allows me to adapt to the student's need on an individual basis from pupil to pupil. Lots of practice material and notes available to help build exam techniques.

About me: Hello, my name is Alice! As a relaxed, gentle and patient tutor, I focus on cultivating confidence in my students through a creative and supportive teaching style. I believe a lesson is successful when: - My student asks questions and voices problems they are unable to at school - My student finds enjoyment and purpose in learning the subject/topic - My student is challenged in a way that builds confidence in their abilities As someone who has always worked hard for exams, I believe effective revision techniques and exam strategy is just as valuable as good subject knowledge. Therefore, for students undertaking exams, I am able to incorporate this into my lessons via tips, revision plans and exam practise. Outside of tutoring I am currently applying to study medicine and work as a part time healthcare assistant and carer to a lady with autism. I am interested in all things climate science/sustainability, enjoy being active whether its running, hockey or swimming and I love to scuba dive! In 2019, I completed my A-level studies at Brighton college with AAA* in biology and chemistry and geography. This summer I graduated with a 1st class degree in Biological Sciences and Sustainability from the University of Exeter. My degree was very broad, covering areas from molecular and cellular biology to earth systems science and policy making.
