Hello my name is Edward, I am currently a first undergraduate studying Mechanical Engineering at UCL. I have a year of tutoring experience and I'm here to help assist fellow students. I have many hobbies, I enjoy keeping fit by practising kickboxing and going to the gym regularly. I also play guitar and have a passion for music. I also try to spend a good amount of time reading, i'm currently making my way through the Game of Thrones books. During my GCSEs I was a very high achiever receiving all 9s and 8s, I also took part in multiple extra curricular activities to improve my academics including a Maths masterclass during year 10 to improve my understanding of the subject. I then went on to obtain an A* in A level Maths, an A in A level Further Maths, an A in A level physics and a B in A level psychology. Hello! Thank you for reading my profile, I'm Abbie, a postgrad student in Japanese and Chinese translation. I am passionate about teaching and motivating my students to branch out from topics typical at school. My key aims in all lessons are to make steps towards building students' confidence in the desired subject and building upon academic skills to feel prepared for exams or tests. I strive to ensure my students enjoy each lesson, feel safe in my lesson space and feel comfortable asking and discussing anything about the subject. I plan my lessons to fit each student's style of learning and interests for example studying the history of manga in Japanese lessons or diving into the world of gothic literature in English lessons - there is something for everyone! I can help with exam preparation and practice and provide extra support/materials for personal study. Subjects I teach (up to GCSE): English Language and Literature, English as a Second Language, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Welsh I have been tutoring for over 3 years now, both abroad and in the UK.
