Hi! I'm Tom, 21 years old, and currently a student at the university of Birmingham studying chemical engineering at a masters level. I'm very enthusiastic about anything maths and science, bringing practical engineering application to life. I live in the heart of north wales, love to swim and play football. I attended the Kings school Chester for both secondary school and sixth form. I obtained seven grade 9's, two grade 8's and an A* in further maths (10 A*s in old money). At sixth form, I obtained an A* in maths and chemistry, and an A in physics at A level. I then went on to study chemical engineering at the University of Birmingham, averaging a first-class honours degree in my first three years. I am now currently going into my final year to obtain an integrated masters degree.

I'm currently in my first year of medical school, passionate about both my studies and helping others succeed. As a tutor, I love seeing students reach their goals and gain confidence in their abilities. Outside of academia, I enjoy getting creative with arts and crafts, exploring nature's beauty, and diving into video games for some relaxation. I have two beautiful cats who hold a special place in my heart, bringing joy and comfort to my life. Looking forward, I dream of traveling the world, experiencing different cultures, and expanding my horizons. Additionally, I'm eager to volunteer at animal shelters, where I can make a difference in the lives of animals in need. Balancing academics, hobbies, and future goals, I'm excited for the adventures that lie ahead and the opportunity to make a positive impact along the way. My schooling began in London, where I completed my GCSE and A-level qualifications. These years laid a strong foundation for my learning journey. Now, I'm studying Medicine. I'm excited to dive deeper into the medical field and learn how to help people live healthier lives. Outside of school, I've spent time working as a carer, assisting those who need help. This experience taught me the importance of kindness and responsibility. I'm also trained in first aid, which means I know how to help in emergencies. Learning first aid shows my commitment to being helpful and prepared for any situation. Combining my education, caregiving experience, and first aid training, I'm eager to continue growing and making a positive impact in the medical field. I'm excited about the journey ahead and the opportunity to make a difference in people's lives.

Working as a Maths, English and 11+ tutor for the past 7 years, I have had the pleasure of teaching children aged 4 to 16 from various backgrounds. My job role includes working with children whom had special educational needs and those who speak limited English therefore I believe it to be vital that each individual’s way of learning is taken into account, through organising imaginative and stimulating projects to motivate the children. I believe patience to be extremely important when tutoring any child and I am certain that I am able to carry forward these skills when teaching your child. I have also worked as a music teacher for the past 3 years, teaching composition to children aged 7 through to 11 whilst additionally conducting individual singing lessons and leading the choir. I successfully organised lesson plans in line with the curriculum objectives and continued to present a dynamic delivery to the children. Through this role, I was able to support the improvement of the children’s confidence in composition and performance, whilst working closely with colleagues and liaising with parents to ensure that children were both learning and enjoying their education. I have a strong passion for both children’s educational progress but additionally their respective self-development. Hello, my name is Kirstie and I have been teaching for 20 years. I have spent time both in British secondary schools and in schools in Vietnam and Singapore. My main subject and passion is the study of History and I can teach this from Key Stage 3 all the way up to A-Level. My favourite period is the Tudors and I particularly enjoy the stories of the women of this time. I also tutor KS3 English and GCSE English Language and English Literature and am very familiar with AQA, Eduqas and Edexcel exam boards. I also have experience teaching Geography up to GCSE and find the two subjects actually quite complement each other with many of the themes over-lapping. I discovered a love for geography from my love of the great outdoors – I would often find myself on the top of a mountain admiring glacial landscapes and wondering how all the features were formed. This in turn links to my philosophy for education: I believe education should be a journey of discovery that allows the learner to move forwards with their knowledge and understanding of the world around them without putting them under so much pressure that they don’t enjoy it. I believe that effort is necessary in order to be successful, but that learning should not be a struggle or something that is dreaded. I am here to help students achieve their goals and become successful members of their community. In my spare time I enjoy running and drinking coffee with friends. I have 2 cats and have been married for almost 7 years. I am currently learning French in order to pursue my dream of moving to France to start a new life on the continent.
