Hi! I am a first-year undergraduate student studying Applied Medical Sciences at UCL. I studied the IB curriculum at a boarding school, as previously I lived in Canada for 5 years. Living in Canada I played a lot of winter sports and due to this, I love skiing and figure skating. However, since I am living in London I now play volleyball and tennis professionally. I am half Japanese (my mom's side) and half French (my dad's side), therefore, I speak English, Japanese and French fluently but I was born in London. I have lived not only in Canada and the UK but Japan as well! I love all things Math and Biology and I cannot wait to get to know you!

I studied Maths, Physics and PE at A-level then I went to University to study maths with Finance. I played rugby from age 6-18, I still enjoy watching it and occasionally refereeing. In my spare time I enjoy reading, running, going to the gym and training Muay Thai. I graduated in Maths with Finance this summer at Newcastle University. My current job involves going round schools and colleges in the UK and delivering presentations on Newcastle University or science in general. I really enjoy it and it’s made me consider teaching as a long term career. This summer I plan on going back to New York and working as a lifeguard on a summer camp like I did last summer. Following this I plan on moving to Sydney Australia to work in a graduate position. I did my GCSE’s at Kettlethorpe High School. I went to New College Pontefract and did three A-levels in Maths, PE and Physics. I got A*AB. I then did an undergraduate degree at Newcastle University in Maths with Finance. I mainly chose applied modules at university which involved more calculus.

GCSE: Ancient Greek, Ancient History, Classical Civilisation, Italian, Latin A-Level: Italian University Level: Italian Exam board exp: AQA/Cambridge International/Edexcel/Eduqas/OCR/Common Entrance Examinations Experience with: 13+ (Latin and Ancient Greek) Other Languages: Italian Preferred student age group: Any About me: I've always been an avid reader and eager to learn new languages. But it's during my time at Manchester that, thanks to my amazing lecturers, I got passionate about teaching and I decided to become a tutor. Apart from languages and literature, I love screenwriting, reading, playing volleyball and tennis. I have an MA and PhD in Classics and Ancient History from The University of Manchester, and a background in Italian, English and Russian. In 2015, I completed my BA in English and Russian in Italy. In 2017, I gained an MA in Classics and Ancient History (with distinction) from the University of Manchester and went on to apply for a PhD in Classics and Ancient History. During my MA and the first two years of my PhD, I was lucky enough to attend John Taylor’s classes in Latin and Classical Greek. Over the past five years, I have built my teaching experience both in the classroom and as a private tutor: I have successfully tutored students in Latin and Greek (both in Italy and in the UK) preparing for CE, GCSE, and A-Level examinations; I have taught Latin literature and Roman history to undergraduate students at Manchester University. I have also taught Latin and Classical Greek at the London Summer School in Classics (UCL), and Homeric Greek at the Summer School in Homer (UCL). In 2021, I was awarded an Associate Fellowship from the Higher Education Academy. In 2022, I completed my PhD in Classics and Ancient History.

GCSE: Biology, Chemistry, Geography, Maths A-level: Biology, Chemistry Exam board exp: AQA/Edexcel/SQA Scottish Higher/University Clinical Aptitude Test Languages: English Exp with disabilities/ special needs: Autism and dyspraxia Experience with: KS3/KS4/KS5 Preferred student age group: 10-18 Hello, I'm Bilal and I'm studying medicine at university. At A-levels, I studied AQA Biology, AQA Chemistry and AQA Geography where I obtained AAA* respectively in those subjects. I am happy to teach Biology, Chemistry and Geography at GCSE and Biology and Chemistry at A-level. I specialise in the AQA curriculum at GCSE and A-level, however, I am flexible in my teaching to cover all exam boards. I can also teach robust and effective examination techniques and healthy revision techniques for effective study in the come up to exams. I'm also able to mentor students who have their sights set on medicine and dentistry offering tuition in the UCAT examination for entry to medicine and dentistry in the UK, as well as entrance exams to respective medical and dentistry schools abroad. I've had the pleasure of mentoring students who have had their sights set on studying at Oxford and Cambridge, providing 1 to 1 interviews and MMI interviews for those wanting to apply to medicine and dentistry. I'm an Aston Villa fan and a Marvel movie fanatic, however, any movie with action will take my fancy.
