Teaching is a passion that allows me to combine my love for learning with my desire to help others succeed. One of the most fulfilling aspects of teaching is the opportunity to make a lasting impact on someone's life. Whether it's helping a student overcome a struggle, guiding them through their learning journey, or simply encouraging them to believe in their potential, those moments are what drive my passion. I believe that every student is unique, and it’s important to adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs, whether through creative approaches, hands-on activities, or one-on-one support. Building meaningful relationships with students, understanding their strengths and challenges, and providing personalized guidance is at the heart of what I do. Ultimately, teaching is about fostering growth, inspiring curiosity, and empowering students to reach their full potential, and that’s what makes it such a fulfilling and lifelong passion for me. I completed my General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) in the United Kingdom, where I laid the foundation for my academic journey. Subsequently, I pursued my A-levels, advancing my knowledge in specific subjects and preparing for higher education. Currently, I am enrolled in university, where I am actively engaged in furthering my education. This stage of my academic journey has provided me with opportunities to delve deeper into my chosen field of study, contributing to my overall growth and development. I am dedicated to achieving academic excellence and acquiring valuable skills that will shape my future endeavors.

I am a dedicated Mathematics and Statistics student at the University of Leeds, offering one-on-one tutoring to help students master mathematical concepts with clarity and confidence. With a strong academic background, including A in A-Level Mathematics* and a passion for problem-solving, I specialise in breaking down complex topics into easy-to-understand steps. I tailor my teaching approach to each student’s needs, ensuring they grasp key concepts, improve problem-solving skills, and build confidence in exams. Whether it's GCSE or A-Level mathematics, I am committed to helping students succeed through structured lessons and personalised guidance. I took 12 GCSEs, 9 A* and 3, then Maths, Physics, and Economics at A-Level. I've been tutoring Maths and Physics since University. So far, I've found teaching to be greatly fulfilling and have really enjoyed helping students along their academic journey.

I'm a friendly and enthusiastic teacher of Spanish who loves teaching, learning and studying. I'm a teacher of English and Spanish. I've studied to teach both languages. I really enjoy teaching Spanish and showing my culture to all those who want to learn. I've been teaching for 23 years and I've been tutoring online for 5 years. So, I'm patient and enthusiastic. When I teach, I cater for communication and I try to develop the intercultural competence in all my students. I'm a M.A. in Contemporary Literature written in English. I wrote my thesis on the novel The Whale Rider by Witi Ihimaera. I love tea. In fact I'm a tea sommelier (I have a certificate) and I enjoy tasting different teas and blends. I'm fond of nature and outdoor activities. I'm interestered in literature and films, especially in The Hunger Games and Star Wars (my kids names start with LS like Luke and Leia Skywalker). After 20 years of secondary school classroom teaching in English and History, I am branching out into online teaching. I taught in London, at Walthamstow for my probationary year in 1991, and have since taught in South Africa, in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. I run Parkrun, grow and sell organic vegetables, and enjoy wilderness walking. After A Bachelor of Arts in History and English, at Wits University in Johannesburg in 1984, I did a postgraduate Higher Diploma in Education, in English and History. I then taught in London and South Africa for nine years, during which time I qualified with a Bachelor of Education in Applied Linguistics, from Wits University. In 1998, my family and I went to Vancouver, British Columbia, for me to study a Masters Degree in Theology. We returned to SA in 2002. In 2016, I graduated with a PhD in History, at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. I am currently enrolled for my TTA TEFL certificate, Level 5, to qualify and teach EFL, from April 2025.
