I believe that it is better to ‘lead from behind’ and allow students to first try and answer the questions from their own knowledge rather than ‘spoon feeding’ answers. Hi! I’m Mena Clay, an experienced ESL teacher with four years of teaching learners worldwide. I have a degree in secondary education majoring in English, TEFL certification, and a professional background in business and supervision. My student-centered teaching style is collaborative and adaptable, focusing on practical skills to help you confidently use business English in real-life scenarios. My ultimate aim is to inspire confidence and foster growth as you master the English language. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education, majoring in English, from the University of Mindanao, Philippines, where I gained extensive training in teaching methodologies, curriculum development, and classroom management. Additionally, I am a certified TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) instructor, equipped with skills to teach English to non-native speakers effectively. My academic background and certification have provided me with a strong foundation in language instruction, enabling me to design engaging lessons and foster a productive learning environment for students of diverse backgrounds.

I am an undergraduate student, studying English at University of Nottingham. I have experience with both young children and teenagers, and enjoy both making learning fun, and helping young people meet their full potential! I'm friendly and proactive, and have experience working with children with a variety of needs. Most importantly, I believe learning should be suited to the student, not the teacher! I enjoy writing during my free-time, particularly for Nottingham's student publication, and working with young people - whether through sports teams, after-school clubs, or tutoring. I studied at a state comprehensive school in London, where I achieved 10 A*'s-B's at GCSE - including a B in Maths, A's in Science, and A's in both English Language and Literature - and A's and B's at A-Level. I'm currently an undergraduate student studying English, the subject where my strengths most definitely lie. I previously studied in London while working full-time, and am interested in pursuing a TEFL to teach young people English as a second-language.

Hi, I’m Aisha. I have a strong passion for science, particularly chemistry and biology. I am highly intrigued by the fields of pharmacology, cancer research and genetics; I aspire to be a part of one of these fields after completing my degree in Natural Sciences. I thoroughly enjoy teaching others and helping students achieve the best results by working smarter, not harder. I have recently tutored GCSE maths, physics and biology. I like to make sure I have a structured plan for each of my lessons so that no time is wasted, however I also encourage my students to ask as many questions as they like, because this is the key to learning! I completed my GCSEs at Norbury High school for Girls. I achieved seven grade 9s in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, History and French. I achieved a grade 8 in Computer science and two grade 7s in English Language and English Literature. I completed my A-levels at Dunraven sixth form. I have achieved A*A*A* in my Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics A levels. I will be studying Natural Sciences at UCL from September!
