Hi, I’m Dos, an ESL teacher with a TEFL certification and a background in Business Administration. While teaching is my passion, my hobbies play a huge role in shaping who I am and how I connect with others. I’m an avid traveler and love immersing myself in different cultures. Whether it’s exploring bustling cities or peaceful countryside, every journey inspires me and often gives me ideas to make my lessons more engaging. Photography is another passion of mine—I enjoy capturing unique perspectives, especially during my travels. It’s not just about taking pictures; it’s about storytelling and finding beauty in the ordinary. I’m also a fan of trying new things in the kitchen, experimenting with international recipes. Cooking is both a creative outlet and a way to experience the world from home. Beyond that, I enjoy hiking and being outdoors. There’s something revitalizing about being in nature, and it helps me stay energized for both my personal life and my teaching. These hobbies not only bring me joy but also help me relate better to my students, as I often draw on my experiences to make lessons more relatable and engaging. I am a current medical student at the University of York, with a passion for Biology and Chemistry, after being on track to achieve an E in Chemistry but ending up with an A I know first hand the value of the strong, co-operative and patient teaching that can benefit students grade outcomes. Due to being a current medical student I can also tailor my advice and teaching strategies to those who are seeking a carreer in healthcare. MBBS - Hull York Medical School 2024-2029 A-levels: Chemistry-A Biology-A Geography-A EPQ-A GCSES:9888877665 After finishing this Gap year I will be undergoing a medicine degree at the University of York (confirmed unconditional offer) after having studied A-levels at Reigate college. I have a particular interest in Neuroscience which I was able to explore in significant depth during my EPQ on the effects of hallucinogenic drugs and hallucinations on the brain and its neuroanatomy. I have experience volunteering within a school as well as private tuition and volunteering at an assisted living home for adults with complex learning difficulties. I have developed the skills nececssary to adapt my communication to suit the needs of the individual in order to develop the rapport that is vital for a strong student-teacher relationship.

Levels and Subjects I teach: I’m an English and History teacher with GoStudent. I can teach these at GCSE and A Level. As a professional writer I can offer academic and creative writing classes to adults and higher level students. I am a teacher of environmental science. I have an MSc in Conservation Ecology and extensive field experience in Latin America, Africa and Asia. Having studied and worked as a professional actor, I can also offer Drama/Acting classes to A Level. Languages: Apart from English, I'm also a fluent Spanish speaker. Preferred student age groups: I prefer to work with students from 10 years and older (to adults), however I have worked with students from 6 years up. About me: I have been a professional travel, environment, and creative writer for the last 20 years, and a teacher for the last 9. I have a background in acting, drama and conservation ecology and when it comes to teaching I draw on these skills to make my classes as fun, dynamic, and interesting as possible. I often use roleplay, music, media, and games to enhance students learning and understanding. Learning is so much easier when it’s fun and thought-provoking. I teach students from young children to the executives of large companies. Outside of my roles as teacher and writer I have also worked as an actor, journalist, conservationist and professional mountain and nature tour guide and tour designer. I love wildplaces. When not working, I love hiking, film, theatre, acting, travel, snorkelling, diving, photography, and martial arts. I also run workshops in creative writing. I have an MSc in Conservation Ecology from Oxford Brookes University. I decided to do this degree after living and working in Latin America, Africa and South East Asia for many years. Living and working as a guide, writer, and conservationist in these places inspired my love of the natural world. My degree is in acting and performance art. I was lucky enough to attend East 15 Acting School (which is now part of the University of East London) to study. I worked as an actor for many years, and I often include roleplay and drama in my lessons. For my A levels I studied English (A), Art (A) and Geography (B).
