I am studying towards a BSc in Mathematics, helping my fellows in said subject throughout my prior studies. My hobbies have included PC hardware and the space around it, some years of Aikido and archery, (not forgetting to mention) a delight in reading novels (be they published or in-progress works). I have a CertHE from the University of Warwick towards an Engineering course, and completed my A2s in 2017 (Mathematics/Further Mathematics/Physics/Chemistry). I studied for the FSMQ (Freestanding Mathematics Qualification) alongside GCSEs in 2015, almost achieving 'A's across the board.

I've worked as an in-person tutor, mostly in physics and biology, I've also tutored mathematics and english at KS2 level, which helped me develop great communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts in simple ways! I went to High School where I earned a grade 6 in Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology. After that, I studied at College and completed a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Applied Science with grades D*,D,D. My name is Arcel, and I’m 29 years old. I'm a Math teacher but I can also teach Science (Biology & Chemistry) and Sociology. I like also playing basketball and guitar—two activities that allow me to express myself creatively and stay active. Whether it’s on the basketball court or playing my favorite songs, I enjoy the challenge and the connections these hobbies bring. I graduated with a Bachelor of Secondary Education, majoring in Mathematics (BSED-Math) from Northern Mindanao Colleges Inc. in April 2016. Shortly after, I successfully passed the licensure examination for teachers in September 2016. Currently, I am furthering my education by pursuing a Master’s degree in Teaching Mathematics. My passion for mathematics and my dedication to education drive me to help students discover the beauty and relevance of the subject. Teaching is a profession I am deeply committed to, as I believe it is through education that I can make a lasting impact on students' lives. My goal as an educator is not only to help students master mathematical concepts but also to inspire them to develop a genuine interest in the subject. I understand that many students find math challenging, which is why I believe that patience and the right approach are key to helping them overcome obstacles. With a supportive learning environment, students can build confidence and come to appreciate math as a tool for critical thinking and problem-solving. As I continue my graduate studies, I am gaining deeper insights into effective teaching strategies and educational research, which will further enhance my ability to connect with students. I am passionate about creating a classroom atmosphere that fosters active learning, encourages curiosity, and promotes a love for learning. By tailoring my teaching methods to suit diverse learning styles, I strive to ensure that every student feels supported and motivated to succeed. Ultimately, my mission as a teacher is to empower students, helping them not only succeed in mathematics but also appreciate its value in everyday life. I am excited to continue growing in my field and inspire future generations of learners.

I'm currently a veterinary medicine student at university, slated to graduate in 2030. I have two younger brothers and have always been one of those strange children who enjoyed going to school for the learning, not just the fun. Outside of education I am a knitter, a crocheter, a badminton player, and an avid creative writer. I was involved in Scouts for two years and was part of the National Honour Society in high school, a society for students in American high schools that select members based on four pillars: academics, character, service, and leadership. I enjoy explaining things and hope to ensure that my students gain a greater appreciation of the subject matter, but I will settle for getting them through their exams if that's all they want. I attended CAJ, an international high school in Japan that following the American curriculum. I took 10 AP subjects, which are slightly narrower in scope but no less thorough in depth than A levels, and scored 5s (highest score) in all but English language, where I scored a 3 (pass mark). The AP subjects I took were Japanese, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Statistics, Physics 1, Physics 2, Chemistry, Biology, English Language and Comprehension, and English Literature and Composition.
