With a robust academic foundation, I hold a Degree of Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Biological Science from the Philippines and am currently advancing my expertise by pursuing a master’s degree in teaching science. As a licensed Professional Teacher in the Philippines, complemented by a Certificate in Professional Development for 21st Century Educators, I bring a wealth of knowledge and diverse skills to the table. I studied Maths, Physics and PE at A-level then I went to University to study maths with Finance. I played rugby from age 6-18, I still enjoy watching it and occasionally refereeing. In my spare time I enjoy reading, running, going to the gym and training Muay Thai. I graduated in Maths with Finance this summer at Newcastle University. My current job involves going round schools and colleges in the UK and delivering presentations on Newcastle University or science in general. I really enjoy it and it’s made me consider teaching as a long term career. This summer I plan on going back to New York and working as a lifeguard on a summer camp like I did last summer. Following this I plan on moving to Sydney Australia to work in a graduate position. I did my GCSE’s at Kettlethorpe High School. I went to New College Pontefract and did three A-levels in Maths, PE and Physics. I got A*AB. I then did an undergraduate degree at Newcastle University in Maths with Finance. I mainly chose applied modules at university which involved more calculus.

After 20 years of secondary school classroom teaching in English and History, I am branching out into online teaching. I taught in London, at Walthamstow for my probationary year in 1991, and have since taught in South Africa, in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. I run Parkrun, grow and sell organic vegetables, and enjoy wilderness walking. After A Bachelor of Arts in History and English, at Wits University in Johannesburg in 1984, I did a postgraduate Higher Diploma in Education, in English and History. I then taught in London and South Africa for nine years, during which time I qualified with a Bachelor of Education in Applied Linguistics, from Wits University. In 1998, my family and I went to Vancouver, British Columbia, for me to study a Masters Degree in Theology. We returned to SA in 2002. In 2016, I graduated with a PhD in History, at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. I am currently enrolled for my TTA TEFL certificate, Level 5, to qualify and teach EFL, from April 2025.

I earned my degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) from the University of Uyo, where I developed a deep understanding of both the scientific and psychological aspects of health and wellness. Following my graduation, I specialized in Psychiatry Pharmacy, working in a hospital setting where I collaborated closely with mental health professionals to support patients dealing with various psychological challenges. This experience allowed me to gain hands-on knowledge of how psychological principles apply in clinical practice, bridging the gap between theory and real-world application. In addition to my practical experience, I have earned certifications in Clinical Psychology and Social Psychology, which have further expanded my understanding of the human mind and behavior. These certifications have given me a solid foundation in areas like cognitive behavior, emotional regulation, personality theories, and the social influences on behavior. This blend of knowledge helps me to offer a well-rounded tutoring experience that caters to both academic understanding and practical insights.
