I have a further two years of experience teaching Maths and Science in UK Secondary schools. Hi! My name is Lucia Valero and I am a third year Chemical Engineering student at the University of Aberdeen. I have taught Maths from primary to S4 level for a year. I try to keep lessons light and as engaging by possible, always working through examples and really encourage students to think independently as they are often capable of more than they realize. (I am not interested in teaching Spanish at the moment) Spanish is my first language, and I am familiar with the process of learning a second language so I am confident in teaching it. I find that usually reading and conversation are the best ways to learn a language and achieve fluidity but I can adapt to each student's needs. I sat Scottish exams (SQAs) and currently attend the University of Aberdeen for Chemical Engineering. I speak fully fluent English, Spanish and some French. I have around 2 years of tutoring experience I am interested in teaching English as a foreign language not as a subject. I have received French and English tutoring throughout most of my childhood and have given some Spanish tutoring previously, so I have some experience in the area.

I am very friendly and will work to the best of my ability to help my students. Moreover, I shall try and provide them the guidance to better equip them for their higher studies. Furthermore, I try to make my sessions as interactive as possible and encourage my students to take an active part in conversations and discussions giving them a more comfortable environment to study in. I am very easy to talk to and always have an open ear for any and all suggestions. I have a lot of hobbies. I play many sports such as football, cricket, and table tennis. In addition, I am very good at horseback riding, and I use to teach children how to ride. Furthermore, I have a never-ending love for planes. This may be because my father is a pilot, and I am an engineering student. I am studying Mechanical Engineering at Coventry University. I am undergoing an Integrated Master's Course, and am currently in my final year at university. I completed my A levels in 2020 in Qatar, and obtained the following grades: Maths - A Chemistry - A Physics - A* In addition, I obtained 4As in the first year of my A levels. I started my GCSE's in Pakistan consequently completing them in Qatar in 2018.
