I am aware of different challenges that students face and I develop different strategies to help them to overcome them. There isn’t always an opportunity for students to ask questions and receive a lot of personal attention in the school classrooms, so I always encourage students to explain to me what they struggle with the most and which areas make the least sense, so they don’t go back to their school lessons still feeling confused and worried that they don’t understand something. In addition, I encourage them to think and analyse, I try to avoid giving answers, instead I help students find them themselves. I believe it’s such an important life skill. I consider each student’s strengths and weaknesses. I always strive to create a friendly and relaxed atmosphere in my online classroom. I build my relationship with everyone on mutual respect and trust. I prefer when students see me as a mentor, rather than a teacher, and I call our meetings “sessions”, rather than “lessons”. My hobbies are cooking (and eating) as well as art and cycling. I know that maths is not everyone's favourite subject which is why I focus on my students own capabilities and understandings, as for many questions there will be different paths you can take to get to the correct answer so finding the best route for my student is key. I achieved an A* in A-Level maths just over a year ago so the exam style questions are really fresh in my mind. I received a grade 8 in mathematics at GCSE. I am currently studying mathematics at the University of Birmingham, solely because I enjoy the subject so much. My A-level grades are: A* in Maths, A in Art, A in History and a D in Chemistry.

I am studying Natural Sciences at Loughborough University, focusing on Bioscience and Maths with the hope of entering neuroscience. I have A Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Maths and GCSE's in Biology, Maths, Chemistry, Physics, French, English Language, English Literature, Religious Studies and History. I have been tutoring for just over a year now and have seen consistent positive improvements and differences in my students, through improved understanding and better results. I believe each student has a way of learning that is most effective to them, and once this is understood, each individual's potential is limitless. I completed my GCSE's at The Nobel School and achieved a grade 9 in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English Language, French, and History and a grade 8 in English Literature, Maths and Religious Studies.
