Hi, my name is Mariya Amla! I am a current degree apprentice at BT Group, studying BSc Digital User Experience Professional. I have completed work experience at JP Morgan and Next, along with virtual technology work experience at JP Morgan and BP. I have recently finished college, completed A-Levels in Computer Science, Maths, Psychology and received grades AAA. I've also been graded 7s and above during GCSEs. I am an English and Creative Writing student at University and I love to make art and do yoga in my spare time. My favourite subject to teach is poetry, but Shakespeare is also up there! I have a cat, and welcome you to show me your pets during lessons :) I attended Queens’ School, Bushey where I achieved high scores in my A Levels and GCSEs. I achieved above 6 in all GCSEs, including 9s in English Language and Literature. For A Levels I studied Psychology, English Literature and Biology, achieving A*AA. I am an experienced Mathematics & Computer Science tutor. With my last cohort of students, I witnessed exponential improvements with students fluency and confidence. I have over three years experience in teaching. I have extensive teaching experience with students aged 5 – 18 and I have helped students to obtain the highest grades at KS1 – KS3 & GCSE. I can also provide coaching for career related advice and support with college and university applications. I hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate. As well as using published materials, I provide bespoke materials for students based on examination questions so that they are able to develop their mathematical or computer science fluency and problem-solving skills. At the end of each session, students receive detailed notes of work covered, either in Word, PowerPoint or Microsoft Whiteboard format. I aim to make my sessions engaging, bringing in interactive elements and whiteboards as much as possible especially for my younger students in order to create a simulated, real-life fun experience with each hour.
