About me

I have taught at The Grange School – an Independent school situated in Hartford, Cheshire. I was at the school for 23 years of which 16 were Head of Department and have just recently taken early retirement. I have taught 11-18 years old and at A level have experience of all examination boards. I have been leader for the NEA aspect of the course for the last 5 years and have mentored students in topics such as The Angevin Empire, Tudor Rebellions, 17th Century Witch-craze and The American Revolution through to Civil War. I have taught A Level and GCSE every year at school and our results have been excellent. We have had nothing less than a B grade since 2018 and this year gained 5 A* 9A and 4 B grades. Our results at GCSE were 100% Grade 7-9 from 42 students half of which were Grade 9. I...

I am currently an undergraduate student which makes me familiar with the new GCSE and A level examination system, giving me the advantage of guiding my students through this process. I have a particular passion when it comes to tutoring. I am happy to go over anything my students are struggling with. One of the most rewarding aspects of teaching is seeing the positive impact you can have on your students. Tutoring gives me the opportunity to help my students with their confidence as well as to inspire and encourage my students to achieve their goals and pursue their dreams. Completed an Extended Project Qualification (at an A grade) questioning: 'Why does a lack of childcare support for women hurt the economy?' Representative of Berskire Sustainability Project and was a previous member of Eton College Holyport College Investment Club

I am studying towards a BSc in Mathematics, helping my fellows in said subject throughout my prior studies. My hobbies have included PC hardware and the space around it, some years of Aikido and archery, (not forgetting to mention) a delight in reading novels (be they published or in-progress works). I have a CertHE from the University of Warwick towards an Engineering course, and completed my A2s in 2017 (Mathematics/Further Mathematics/Physics/Chemistry). I studied for the FSMQ (Freestanding Mathematics Qualification) alongside GCSEs in 2015, almost achieving 'A's across the board.
