Silena K.
Hello, my name is Silena and let me tell you a bit about myself. I am an extremely ambitious, passionate and an outgoing individual always determined to get involved in new challenges and accept new opportunities. I’m currently in my final year at the University of Liverpool, studying Accounting and Finance, in hopes of achieving a first class degree. I love to get involved in different clubs like for examples I did synchronised swimming for 3 years, placing 5th at nationals, as well as earning gold and silver medals at different competitions. Currently, I am a member of my university cheerleading team, which has been an amazing, new experience allowing me to try something completely different and out of my comfort zone, as it is rather different from synchro as well as dance which I did for 10 years. I also have been trying to start up knitting during lockdown but it’s proven to be harder than I expected; so it’s still a work in progress. I’m also a huge believer in helping the community. I've been volunteering at my local nursing home and hospital for a total of 2 years during sixth form, which was an extremely rewarding experience. Why do I want to be a tutor? In my Chemistry Subject Champion role at sixth form, entailing teaching students the subject, I realised my passion for teaching and guiding others. As a student who experienced similar struggles during my exams and underwent tutoring, l’m able to significantly relate to young students, with regards to the pressures and stresses they experience. Moreover, as a synchronised swimmer for my local club, Hythe Aqua, I had responsibilities to teach the younger swimmers in preparation for national competitions and figure assessments. Despite, the difficulties when teaching younger pupils, due to lack of concentration and consistent interruptions, I developed a sense of patience when managing situations under pressure alongside commanding attention, in turn adapting my communication styles to the specific age groups. As someone who is able to relate to the experiences of balancing 12 subjects and has completing my GCSEs successful signified by achieving mostly A*s and As, I have the expertise to provide the necessary assistance and guidance. It is crucial for students to establish a close and trusting relationship with their tutors in order to feel entirely comfortable and fully engage with the session. I’d describe myself as a friendly, caring individual who is able to provide the support for every student to reach their full potential and achieve success in their studies. Attended Grammar School- passed the 11+ GCSEs All A*s and As English Literature and Language Mathematics Textiles, Biology, French, History, Religious Education, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry and ICT A-Levels Economics Biology Chemistry EPQ University of Liverpool - Accounting and Finance (4th Year)

Hi! My name is Rad and I study Medicine at the University of Leicester. I love teaching and working with people to tackle problems in creative ways, and simply passing down my knowledge I've accumulated over the years. That's why I've been involved in mentoring since the start of sixth form! I have achieved A*A*A* in my A levels (Biology, Chemistry, Maths) and 9s in my GCSEs for Maths and the Sciences respectively. I hope to meet wonderful students here, and help you understand concepts that seem daunting :) I will be teaching the curriculum, covering the specifications accurately. I have extensive knowledge of the mark schemes and what examiners are looking for, so I will also be helping you improve your exam technique. In a typical lesson, we would go through what difficulties you've been facing and try to tackle them from various angles. This includes breaking down concepts into simpler stages and working our way on top of them. I am a firm believer of having a strong foundation down, so I will make sure that your fundamental concepts are understood well. I have taught a variety of students, including from Year 9 to Year 13.

I am currently and undergraduate student studying Computer Science with a focus in high-performance graphics and game engineering. I am in my final year and will be graduating in the summer of 2024 with an MEng degree in the above area. I have a large passion for computer science and programming, but I also enjoy maths and physics as that's what I studied at A-Level Have completed sufficient work to receive a Bachelor's Degree, but I am on an integrated masters course so have not officially graduated as of yet Experience with AQA and Edexcel exam boards at GCSE and A-Level as a student. A lot of familiarity with exam papers and what the mark schemes look for

Hi, I’m Danny. I am a mathematics graduate who studied at the University of Bristol. I have a passion for maths and find unlocking hidden potential in students, by experimenting with new teaching techniques, a very enjoyable process. In my spare time, I love hiking, reading and watching films/television.
