I’m a mechanical engineering student who enjoys learning, staying active, and improving at things over time. Outside academics, I train Muay Thai and play squash, which keeps me disciplined and focused. I’m naturally curious, patient, and I like explaining ideas in a way that actually makes sense to people. I value consistency, good communication, and personal growth, both in and out of education. I try to bring a calm, supportive energy to everything I do, because people learn best when they feel comfortable and understood. I am a results-oriented, dedicated, and enthusiastic individual with strong interpersonal skills who has maintained a positive attitude in all situations. I enjoy learning new things, taking on challenges, and finding practical solutions to problems. Whether working independently or as part of a team, I bring a strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to doing my best. My role of Head Girl at my past school, St John's College allowed me to improve my time management skills as I had to balance this role alongside my A Level examinations and UCAS deadlines. I've been a ballet dancer since the age of 4 and have completed my Grade 8 aswell as my Intermediate qualification. I've also completed my RAD Assistant Teacher Training course which helped my organisational skills and highlights my dedication to teaching others. I want to teach because I enjoy helping others understand topics they once found difficult and seeing their confidence grow. Maths can feel intimidating, and I find it rewarding to break concepts down in a clear, supportive way that makes learning feel achievable. Hi! My name is Layla, and I tutor Sciences, Maths, and English as a Foreign Language. I work with students of all ages, from primary and KS3 through to GCSE and A-Level, and I support all major exam boards. I help students with exam preparation, strengthening core skills, and building confidence in English communication. My teaching style is friendly and adaptable—I break down difficult topics into clear, simple steps, use real-life examples, and tailor lessons to each student’s learning style. I believe learning should be enjoyable as well as effective, and I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel motivated and confident.
