I achieved A* in Economics and A's in Biology and Chemistry in my recent A-levels. Unlike typical tutors, I've been in the student's shoes, balancing A-levels, a social life, and university applications. As a gap year student aspiring to study medicine, I'm here to guide you through this challenging journey. In Year 12, I faced initial struggles, earning E, D, and C grades in Economics, Chemistry, and Biology. But within 8 months, I transformed my grades in economics achieving one of the highest marks in the country. As a student I've overcome the same roadblocks, revision hardships, and academic pressures as you. Top grades require more than just content knowledge; they demand effective hard work. Luck plays a role, but it's essentially a mathematical probability principle. With strategic effort, you can tilt the odds in your favour, no matter what challenges come your way. My tutoring sessions are personalised to each student's needs. To ensure the most effective guidance, I ask students to provide specific instructions for our sessions. This way, I can tailor my approach . My tutoring philosophy is based on a series of books / research paper i have read on educational neurosciences of how to learn most effectively which i personally implemented thus i know work for the average student . I'm currently a veterinary medicine student at university, slated to graduate in 2030. I have two younger brothers and have always been one of those strange children who enjoyed going to school for the learning, not just the fun. Outside of education I am a knitter, a crocheter, a badminton player, and an avid creative writer. I was involved in Scouts for two years and was part of the National Honour Society in high school, a society for students in American high schools that select members based on four pillars: academics, character, service, and leadership. I enjoy explaining things and hope to ensure that my students gain a greater appreciation of the subject matter, but I will settle for getting them through their exams if that's all they want. I attended CAJ, an international high school in Japan that following the American curriculum. I took 10 AP subjects, which are slightly narrower in scope but no less thorough in depth than A levels, and scored 5s (highest score) in all but English language, where I scored a 3 (pass mark). The AP subjects I took were Japanese, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Statistics, Physics 1, Physics 2, Chemistry, Biology, English Language and Comprehension, and English Literature and Composition.
