Hi. I'm Ade, and I have been tutoring successfully for over 7 years now, with over 100 students (over 3 years on GoStudent with over 40 students), Grades 7 to 12, GCSE, and A-Levels. I have a Bachelors degree in Geophysics, a Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Education, and I'm currently doing a 2nd Degree in Mathematics. I keep my lessons simple, with a focus on consistent practice. I also tailor my lessons to fit the student and get the best out of them. Simply put, I help you understand the foundations of the concepts you're trying to learn, and we'll do lots of practice. I specialize in building students skill and confidence in facing and solving problems. I'm pretty good at it because I am always learning new things myself, so I never forget what it's like be a semi-beginner, and I tend to relate very well with my students experience. This helps me communicate very effectively and support them unconditionally, all the while holding them to high expectations (based on their ability). I am a learner, and I am very good at helping others learn. I look forward to hearing from you! I obtained my first degree in the physical sciences: a Bachelors degree in Geophysics. Afterwards, I obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) to hone my skills in helping others learn and achieve their academic goals. I am currently pursuing a 2nd degree in Mathematics.

Hi! I am Hannah, a friendly, approachable English tutor with a Masters in English Literature from Queen Mary University, London. I take a positive, non-judgemental, uplifting approach to teaching - no questions are silly questions and I am passionate about helping my students gain confidence within themselves. I happily adjust my sessions to fit students needs, explaining things as little or as many times as they need in a patient and understanding way. Encouraging self-belief is my rationale for tutoring; it is why I love this job so much! When I’m not taking care of my horse, I love reading📚 and attending concerts - I am a big Harry Styles & Taylor Swift fan! I have loved English from a young age. After getting an A* in my A-LeveI English, my teachers prompted me to study English Literature BA at Anglia Ruskin University. I covered a vast variety of literature there and progressed my analytical and critical thinking skills. I specialised in Victorian Poetry during my MA, which I loved. I have a comprehensive understanding of English Literature and how to achieve top grades - this combined with my confidence-boosting, fun style of teaching has helped my past students excel in their exams and actually enjoy the subject, from primary age through to A-Level.

Hello! My name is Erin, I am currently a first year medical student at the University of Birmingham. As a tutor, my main aim is to quickly determine a students weaknesses, then create a dedicated study plan to help them improve in those areas. I believe that active recall, spaced repetition, and lots and lots of past paper questions - are the key to success! I am well versed in tutoring students of all ages; I have tutored various students ranging from ages 6 to 16 in a variety of different settings. I am also experienced in entrance exam tutoring. Having sat several entrance exams over my lifetime, I understand how to make a study plan that is both time efficient and effective, and how to utilise this study plan effectively. I have previously mentored students who wish to study medicine through UCAS, entrance exam and interview preparation; several of them currently study at top universities, including Oxford and Cambridge! In my spare time, I am a highly creative person - I frequently attend dance classes, I music direct/conduct my university choir, and I scrapbook! I also love to read :) Currently attending the University of Birmingham Medical School - 1st year, Medicine. Attended a top London Grammar school; where I achieved 10 A*s (Grades 8-9) at GCSE level, and 3 As at A level in Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology. In addition to educational qualifications, I also study the piano; I have completed my Grade 8 and am currently working towards my diploma in Music Performance!

Hi, my name is Aoife, I am 18 years old and currently a first year law student at the University of Leeds (and an aspiring human rights lawyer!). My special subject is English, primarily English literature. My highest academic achievements are my 3 A levels (A* in politics, A in history, B in English literature). I am willing to tutor the English subject to all ages, especially primary and secondary as I believe this is when that extra boost in confidence is so important! My passion for English is reflected in my GCSE grades too - achieving a grade 9 in English language and grade 8 in English literature. I have previous experience with children with SEN needs such as autism and ADHD, shaping my teaching style as one of patience and prioritising clarity without exerting pressure on a student. I personally struggled with confidence in both primary and secondary school, and going through tutoring myself helped with this enormously. My personal hobbies include reading and creating artwork in my free time. I look forward to helping you/your child with English and literacy skills! For secondary school I attended Carr Manor Community school, achieving GSCEs all grade 7 and above. I excelled in humanities subjects, with a grade 9 in both history and English language and a grade 8 in English literature. My academic passion carried on into my A levels which I completed at Notre Dame Catholic VI Form College. I achieved an A* in A level politics, A in A level history and a B in English literature. I have gone on to be accepted to study law at the University of Leeds, a Russell group university. I remain open to constantly improving my skills and developing new ones and therefore significantly look forward to tutoring new students, sharing my knowledge and developing my own. I specialise in English and literacy, hoping to develop the skills of younger students to provide that extra boost in confidence.
