Hi, my name's Emillie! I graduated from University College London with a First-Class BSc in Applied Medical Sciences, and I am currently a first-year medical student at Queen Mary University of London. My academic background has given me a strong foundation in science, supported by my A-levels in Biology, Chemistry, Maths, and French. This combination has strengthened both my scientific understanding and my ability to communicate clearly and effectively. As a tutor, I aim to create a supportive and organised learning environment where students feel confident engaging with new material and asking questions. I understand that each learner has a unique approach to studying, so I tailor my teaching style to match individual goals, strengths, and preferred methods of learning. I look forward to helping learners at all stages achieve their goals and increase their confidence. I began my academic journey at a grammar school where I completed both my GCSEs and A-levels. Studying in this environment helped me develop strong study habits early on, as well as a genuine interest for learning. For A-levels, I chose Biology, Chemistry, Maths, and French. These subjects allowed me to explore my interests in science while also strengthening my analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and communication abilities. This combination provided a solid foundation for pursuing further studies in the biological and medical sciences. I went on to study Applied Medical Sciences at University College London, where I gained a deeper understanding of human biology, disease mechanisms, and the research that drives medical progress. The course offered a balance of scientific knowledge and practical skills, and I particularly enjoyed developing my ability to interpret scientific literature, conduct laboratory work, and communicate complex concepts clearly. I graduated from UCL with a First-Class degree, an achievement that reflects my commitment to academic excellence and my passion for this field. I have now begun my first year of medical school at Queen Mary University of London. Studying medicine has been an exciting next step, allowing me to apply my scientific background to real clinical contexts while continuing to expand my knowledge. My academic pathway, from grammar school, through UCL, to medical school, has equipped me with strong subject expertise, disciplined study skills, and a deep motivation to continue learning and supporting others in their educational journeys.

My career journey started from a very young age, where I was writing poetry, stories, taught Mathematics, repaired bicycles, phones and computers, and played multiple instruments. I have the ability to learn and master anything from Novice to Advanced through planning, disciple and consistency. I have nine experience in teaching Mathematics and English to different age groups and also created my teaching material to enhance learning and understanding. I have been coding in Python and Javascript, and have intermediate understanding on C, C++, C#, Java and PHP. I have created projects that help solve any problem that I experienced in a working environment, and these projects reduce the amount of work and time because they are accurate and reliable. I do motivational talks about life, technology, arts and Mathematics, and 90 percent of the students that I have worked with have managed to improve their academics and work ethic. I have been requested by schools to come and assist with complex Mathematical concepts after they saw my incredible work with people., and I don't just work for a salary, but I work to learn, teach, improvise and solve any problem to create a healthy succesful working environment. In all my years of working, I have been solving problems and creating better solutions, combining ideas and working as a wise team to ensure that quality results are obtained. In the previous years, I was teaching the piano, guitars and vocals on my spare time, to help children escape depression, violence and drugs. I love working with people, learning from them and teaching them, and I believe that working with people is creating a system that is beneficial. I enrolled to study a Bachelor’s degree in Education at the University of the Free State until 2019. I was majoring in Mathematics and Life Sciences because I was passionate about teaching Mathematics. With the minimum income that I was getting, I bought musical instruments, teaching equipment and devices. In 2020, I was employed at a school to teach Mathematics until 2023 December. Between 2020 and 2023, I was learning numerous skills, Mathematics, computer hardware, different musical instruments and got exposed to programming. I was running a successful tutoring program, internet café and music program. I got a job at ATNS in Aviation where I am currently working as an Aeronautical Information Management Officer. I developed the passion for coding, fascinated by its way of granting one the ability to program anything, that could solve time and problems. In 2023, I was using JavaScript to code automated Mathematics tests, I used it to study, and create projects that solved any problem that I encountered. I am currently learning JavaScript and Python. I am currently enrolled with the University of the People for BSc in Computer Science. I had a problem with learning how to code because it was different from Mathematics and theoretical work, it challenged me to learn and apply code to solve problems. I am eager to learn and have drafted well detailed plan about my future in I.T. Before I enrolled at the University, I prepared myself by getting books and studying from multiple sources.

Hi there. James here, from South Africa. I taught in London in Walthamstow for my probationary year in 1991, and then in Johannesburg and Kwazulu-Natal in South Africa for a total of 21 years. I have taught Cambridge A Level History and England and South Africa's English and History curricula. I am also a published researcher, poet, and author. I enjoy cross-country running. I like NETFLIX mystery series. I regularly get out wilderness walking and cross country swimming. Since February 2025, I tutor English and Religious Studies for GoStudent. I battled with learning difficulties at school. However, I did very well after school, because I knew that English opens doors. So, I set goals. Then I achieved a B.A (1985) and a B. Ed (1996) degree, at Wits University in Johannesburg. I did a Masters Degree in Theology (Regent College, Vancouver, B.C., 2001) and a PhD in Church History (University of KwaZulu-Natal, 2016). I believe education is a lifelong journey. We master English every day for the rest of our lives. So I'm still learning as I tutor GCSE students, A Level students, and juniors, to reach their highest goals.
