Lower Level: Maths & Science GCSE: Maths, Biology & Chemistry A-Levels: Maths, Biology & Chemistry Exam Board Experience: AQA, Edexcel Languages: English (Native) SND: Experience is none Preferred student age group: Secondary, GCSE & A-Level About you: I am a first year medical student at the University of Leeds, originally from Liverpool. I am quite into my sports, football and F1 to be specific. I support Liverpool and Mercedes. I am quite a laid back person and always up for a chat and a good laugh. I mostly learnt in school by getting questions wrong, and solving them with practice questions and the mark scheme.

Lower Level: Maths, Biology, Chemistry GCSE: Biology, Chemistry A-Level (IB): Biology, Chemistry Exam Board Experience: AQA, OCR, EDEXCEL Languages: Italian (fluent), English (fluent), French (Basic) SEND experience: During my time in sixth-form, I took the opportunity to tutor students struggling with learning difficulties. Here, I developed key skills which proved extremely useful for their progress e.g., altering my communication to their level of understanding while giving relatable and fun examples, ensuring that the students are actively engaged by asking continuous questions to assess their understanding, and each new lesson I conducted with each student was started with a quick recap of the previous lesson. I noticed that these small steps proved extremely useful in the long run for the child's academic progress. Preferred age group: GCSE (However I can also teach A-level and Primary School children) A bit about myself: I am charismatic and enthusiastic Barts and the London School of Medicine student, with a willingness to learn and grow in any field despite the challenges that may be presented. I consider myself well-rounded, excelling in both academics as well as sport e.g., Football (My favourite!) and have passion for social interaction. Through exposure to tough situations as well as reading books on the topics I have honed my emotional intelligence and communication skills which I have since applied to provide help in various avenues such as education. I've had leadership roles such as Headboy of the school and thus have developed strong rapports with students who look at me as a role-model as well as their parents, especially during information evenings where I had conversations on how "parents could best support their children". As a fluent English and Italian speaker, I've acted as a bridge and advocate for foreign students to make them feel integrated in the community. This has also proved useful when teaching students who's first language isn't English as my fluency in another language allowed my to better understand the students I've worked with. I am a published author who is passionate about writing short stories as means of expressing issues that many children are faced with. One such issue is bullying and I have published a book titled Scars the Bullies and The Bullied which aims to inspire readers to take action against bullying. I will work alongside my students, supporting them along each step of the way so that in the end, they can excel; not solely academically but also in life. Medicine Student at Queen Mary's London A-Levels: A*A*A (Psychology, Biology and Chemistry) GCSE: 999999876,Distinction* (Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, French, RE, English Literature, English Language, Sport Studies) Other Qualifications: Nuffield Research Project certificate, STEM SMART Certificate, Brilliant Scholars Programme, Extended Project Qualification on "Who would be Liable if a surgery went wrong during Robotic Intervention"

Hi! I'm Favour, I have experience tutoring students who are studying English language and Literature for their GCSE's. As a tutor I aim to breakdown questions & lessons to go along with the students' pace. During lessons I use the students interest to channel their learning & I am patient to ensure they get the most of the time. For example I once used a students' sports interest to breakdown the structure question in the AQA language paper 1 question 3. What I love the most about tutoring (apart from spreading knowledge of course) is getting to know, learn and see students develop. I love seeing wonderful personalities and interests come through, so I look forward to meeting you soon! Outside of tutoring, I am involved in marketing communications. In my spare time I like to watch movies, videos on dog grooming, skincare & perfumes, spend time with friends and bake (when I can). TEACHING SUBJECTS Lower level: English language & Literature in English Degree level: Mass Communication, Advertising & Marketing courses Languages: English (Level 5) & Yoruba (Level 2) Preferred Student Age Group: 9 years and above. My communication background links with the subject of English and as such my highest educational qualification as a tutor is a completed Bachelors Degree in Mass Communication (Second Class Upper) and a masters degree in Advertising & Marketing. (Distinction)

IMPORTANT NOTE TO SALES MANAGERS! Please message me on WhatsApp - 07778 083581 regarding any trials or regulars. If you don't have WhatsApp then please email me on - shahana.mchy@hotmail.com Tutoring Preference: - Key Stage 2 English and Maths - SATs Preparation - 11+ Exams (Preferably English, Maths and Verbal Reasoning) - Year 7 to Year 11 (Foundation Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Single/Double Science both Foundation and Higher) - NO SEN EXPERIENCE I pride myself on my friendly and approachable demeanour, coupled with a naturally bubbly personality. This enables me to effortlessly connect with students, fostering an environment where they feel comfortable and motivated to learn. Building strong relationships with my students is at the heart of my teaching philosophy. I believe that creating a positive rapport not only enhances the learning experience but also encourages open communication and mutual respect. How my Sessions Go: I meticulously plan each tutoring session to ensure an enriching and productive learning experience for my students. Every session kicks off with an engaging starter activity covering a diverse range of topics. This initial assessment allows me to pinpoint each student's strengths and areas for improvement effectively. I believe in the power of visual aids to enhance understanding. That's why I always come prepared with informative presentations tailored to the topic at hand. These presentations serve as valuable learning tools, providing clarity and depth to the subject matter. Throughout the session, I incorporate a mix of interactive activities. Some tasks involve direct engagement with me, facilitating personalised guidance and feedback. Meanwhile, I also provide independent activities that challenge students to apply their knowledge autonomously. These activities are thoughtfully designed to be both stimulating and educational. As a firm believer in the importance of motivation and engagement, I love to conclude sessions with a fun, educational game. These games not only serve as a rewarding break but also help maintain focus and enthusiasm. By integrating elements of play into learning, I ensure that students remain actively engaged and invested in their progress. Through this structured approach, I aim to create a supportive and dynamic learning environment where students feel encouraged to explore, learn, and excel. I tailor personalised study plans to address your child's individual needs, ensuring they receive the support where they need it most. By creating mini assessments on topics covered, I closely monitor your child's progress and provide detailed reports on their development. Following each session, I promptly send a comprehensive feedback report and supplementary homework within 24 hours. This approach not only reinforces the concepts we've covered but also boosts your child's confidence and knowledge. I bring a wealth of experience and expertise to my role as a tutor, with a strong foundation in both academic and industry qualifications: - Level 2 Apprenticeship in Children and Young People's Workforce: Completed following my GCSEs, this apprenticeship provided me with invaluable insights into child development and effective teaching strategies. - Primary Teaching Assistant Experience: Over the past four years, I've honed my skills as a Primary Teaching Assistant, gaining extensive knowledge of the English and Maths curriculum. This hands-on experience has equipped me with a deep understanding of students' learning needs and effective classroom management techniques. - Degree in Digital Marketing: Alongside my work as a Primary Teaching Assistant, I pursued a degree in Digital Marketing, further enhancing my communication and organizational skills. - Tutoring Experience with GoStudent: In April 2022, I joined GoStudent, a leading global ed-tech company, where I've been tutoring Key Stage 2 students in English and Maths. This experience has allowed me to refine my teaching methods and adapt to the unique needs of each student. Additionally, I have converted 100 trials since I have been with the platform. - Specialisation in 11+ Exam Preparation: In the past year, I've had the privilege of supporting students in preparation for their 11+ exams, witnessing their growth and success first-hand. I'm adept at teaching Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, particularly for exams such as the GL Assessments.
