I've had a decent amount of experiencing tutoring beforehand and really enjoy working to create meaningful relationships with the students I tutor and hopefully help make their schoolwork a little bit more manageable and ideally fun. I'm into playing chess and quizzing, though I'm not fantastic at either, and really enjoy film watching and try to keep up with all the latest releases. I also enjoying keeping up to date with the news when I get the chance to see the latest developments in politics in both domestic and international spheres I went to Crowstone Preparatory School for Primary and then passed my eleven plus, going to Southend High School For Boys, a languages based grammar school in Essex. I then studied for my GCSEs, getting 9s in English Literature, English Language, History, Drama, Religious Studies, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, getting an 8 in Maths, A in ICT and a 6 in German. Following this I took four A-levels, getting A* in English, History, Politics, and Religious Studies. Finally, I applied to Oxford for a degree in History and Politics, focusing on the history, contemporary politics, and the international relations of the Middle East, upon which I also wrote my thesis. In 2023 I graduated with a 2:1 from Oxford University

I’ve been teaching English for nearly a decade, and it’s been an enriching journey. I’ve worked with a wide range of learners—from young children to professionals—helping them achieve their language goals. With my TESOL and TEYL certifications and a Hotel and Restaurant Management degree, I bring expertise and real-world experience to my teaching. Over the years, I’ve developed a learner-centered approach, tailoring lessons to fit each student’s unique needs. Teaching international students has given me a deep appreciation for cultural diversity and taught me how to make lessons engaging and meaningful for learners from all backgrounds. Beyond teaching, I’ve mentored and trained other educators to ensure high-quality instruction, and I’ve created lesson materials for courses like business English, exam preparation, and English for kids. Hosting interactive live classes has been one of the highlights of my career—it’s a creative way to connect with students and make learning fun. What I love most about teaching is seeing my students grow confidently and use English to succeed personally and professionally. Helping students overcome challenges and achieve their goals is the driving force behind my passion for teaching. I strive to create a supportive and engaging environment where learning feels natural and enjoyable. I hold a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, which has provided me with strong communication and interpersonal skills that I incorporate into my teaching. My academic background helps me create practical, real-world connections in lessons, making learning more relatable and engaging for students. In addition, I am TESOL- and TEYL-certified, giving me the expertise to teach English as a Second Language to learners of all ages, from young children to adults. My specializations include grammar, Business English, Exam Preparation, Kids’ English, and General English. I focus particularly on helping students master grammar by breaking down complex concepts into simple, manageable parts. For example, when teaching grammar, I provide real-life examples and interactive exercises to ensure students not only understand the rules but can also use them effectively in both speaking and writing. I have extensive experience designing lessons tailored to individual needs. Whether a student is preparing for an exam, improving professional communication, or developing their conversational skills, I adapt my approach to suit their goals. My lesson plans combine clarity, structure, and creativity, which makes learning both effective and enjoyable. Ultimately, what drives me is helping students build their confidence in using English. Watching learners grow, overcome challenges, and achieve their goals is deeply rewarding. I strive to create a positive and engaging environment where students feel supported and motivated to succeed in their language-learning journey.

Hello! My name is Amar and I'm studying Physics at the University of Manchester. Teaching Maths and Physics is something I've enjoyed doing here and there during school, but I'd like to take it a step further and offer my insight and abilities to any students who could benefit from them. Having scored an A* in Maths and an A in Physics at A-Level, I am confident that I can effectively tutor these subjects. Outside of academia I'm an avid guitar player, a hobby of mine is writing music, comprising solo works and songs for my band. I'm a big football fan too, my favourite club is Liverpool FC.
