I love stories and music. This is why I did an English and Music degree, which I really enjoyed. Reading and writing are such essential and valuable skills, so this, along with my love of stories is why I teach English. I think the Harry Potter books are fantastic. My favourite Shakespeare play is ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, as I love the magic of the forest and the fun of the character Puck. I have also studied Ancient Greek. This proved to be a fascinating language; I found it interesting to learn where so many modern words stem from. I used to run my own drama groups; I believe in the importance of self expression and the confidence that this can bring to people. I have been a tour guide, which was great fun. It was an excellent opportunity to see many interesting sites, whils...

Levels & subjects I teach: Lower level: English Literature and Language GCSE: English Literature and Language A-Level: English Literature Exam Board Experience: AQA GCSE Eduqas A-Level Languages: A-Level Latin Preferred Student Age Group: GCSE and A-Level About me: Hi- my name is Amelia. Alongside my English Literature degree, I am a competitive middle-distance athlete and work within the executive team, as VP of Sport, on my college committee at the University of York. I also enjoy my role as a course ambassador, speaking to prospective students and parents at open days about studying English at Undergraduate level and university life in general. While at University, I began teaching English Literature and Language via zoom, primarily to GCSE students, with the hope of tutoring at A-Level too. My sessions are always based on the personal areas that each individual student wishes to focus on, to consolidate or enhance their understanding of the given topic. I am patient and understanding, so promise to support each student at their own pace and be not only a tutor, but also a reassuring support-system to whom they can direct any questions or queries. I hope to guide and support other students in their personal academic goals, through a focus on exam technique, revision methods and coping with the potential stress that may arise during exam season, to help get the best out of each individual.

Levels and Subjects I teach Lower Level: All Sciences, Maths and English GCSE: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths, Business Studies, Accounting and Economics A-level: Business Studies, Accounting and Economics Exam Board Experience: AQA, Edexcel, WJEC, OCR, 11+ Languages: English fluent Preferred student age group: Primary, GCSE, A-Level About me: Hi there! My name is Abdurrehman and I am a Business student at the University of Salford. My friends describe me as hardworking, dedicated and focussed. Business and Economics has a huge importance in my life, not only because of its link to my career, but because of an interest I have in me. Having attained AAB in my A Levels and 8s and 7s in GCSEs, I have developed from an outstanding student to an incredible tutor. In high school my Maths teachers always applauded my excellent problem solving and maths skills as I acheived an 8 in GCSE, and I am looking forward to sharing these tips with students of my own. I enjoy teaching science because, apart from being great at it in my GCSEs, i like how vast the subjects are and how ever evolving they are. From my own journey, there has been many instances where I have taught myself content because the way the teacher taught me I just didn't understand. This made me an independent learner and encouraged me to reach my highest potential - not to mention all the amazing tips and tricks I discovered and am excited to pass on to my students too. I have a vast experience of teaching, from volunteering experiences to jobs in different settings with tutoring - which helped me fine tune my teaching skills and made me really adaptable to different teaching styles. As a young tutor, the age gap between me and my students will be relatively small and will allow me to understand them much better, as well as make the lessons more fun and engaging as I know how to meet their needs.

I have a passion for teaching Maths, Chemistry and Physics at both GCSE and A-level. I am able to teach students of any age, but would preferably teach students learning at GCSE and A-level. I enjoy teaching swimming and I am a black belt in kickboxing.
