Hello! Thank you for reading my profile, I'm Abbie, a postgrad student in Japanese and Chinese translation. I am passionate about teaching and motivating my students to branch out from topics typical at school. My key aims in all lessons are to make steps towards building students' confidence in the desired subject and building upon academic skills to feel prepared for exams or tests. I strive to ensure my students enjoy each lesson, feel safe in my lesson space and feel comfortable asking and discussing anything about the subject. I plan my lessons to fit each student's style of learning and interests for example studying the history of manga in Japanese lessons or diving into the world of gothic literature in English lessons - there is something for everyone! I can help with exam preparation and practice and provide extra support/materials for personal study. Subjects I teach (up to GCSE): English Language and Literature, English as a Second Language, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Welsh I have been tutoring for over 3 years now, both abroad and in the UK. I have experience working with students of all ages and with different abilities (including language abilities). I have N3 proficiency in Japanese and high proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (traditional and simplified).

I am an undergraduate studying mechanical engineering MEng, I've tutored maths and physics for 2 years and have loved guiding and teaching my students to pass their GCSE's and A-levels As I am still in full time education and having completed my own GCSE's and A-Levels I can understand how stressful and difficult it is learning subjects in classrooms without one to one help. That's why I try cater to students needs, breaking down the subject matter into simpler explanations and then work through exam questions to show how its used in practice. I know the value of getting to understand a student and their needs, from how they learn best to how to keep them engaged in lessons. Past Experience: I have tutored both math's and physics before to GCSE and A-level standards for two years and am particularly confidant in these subjects. I can teach biology and chemistry at a GCSE standard as well. I am available all days of the week, I am familiar with most exam boards, If booking a trial lesson having a specific subject(s) or question(s) you need help with will be most apricated. My hobbies include traveling abroad, skiing, rugby, D&D, reading and cooking. My current goals include getting a 1st in my Masters Degree and getting back into shape

My teaching style includes: - Delivering student-tailored lessons by modifying teaching approaches, exercises and assessments, - Simplifying complex subject matters and - Providing informed and effective feedback to tutees with support and encouragement. I would say my prime skill lies in communicating with students and being able to understand their needs, so as to bring about the best results. I enjoy tutoring because I love sharing knowledge and helping students express themselves and achieve their best. In my free time I like reading novels, learning new things such as crafts and languages, playing badminton and socializing with friends and family.

I am currently a first year Economics student at the University of Warwick. I have always enjoyed maths and while A-Level economics was a lot of fun and extremely interesting especially during the pandemic, it is taking some time to enjoy studying the discipline at a university level. When I’m not stuck studying or doing some sort of society work I love to go for a run(on the treadmill though), re read any one of Jane Austen’s book or go for long walks with a friend.
