Hi! My name is Sarah and I study Biomedical Science. I will graduate next year and I hope to continue onto a Master’s in Neuroscience. In terms of my tutoring experience, I work mostly with primary and secondary school children so and I have taught across the board. I absolutely adore English Literature and my favourite genre is psychological thriller but I am also trying to delve more into the Classics too. I am also an aspiring writer too, currently attempting to finish my first fantasy novel! I have experience teaching SEND students too, so don’t hesitate to reach out! I am currently completing a Master's degree in Bioinformatics. I have studied English Literature, Biology and Psychology. Within my current degree, I have studied various modules such as clinical genetics and human disease, microbiology, metabolism and physiology and cell signalling and physiology.

I am dedicated, patient and caring with ten years experience of working in a primary school classroom setting. Until now, I have been working part-time as a teaching assistant and therapeutic support staff at a SEMH resource unit within a mainstream primary school. I have also been called upon to offer therapeutic support at a similar resource unit at a secondary mainstream school. My responsibilities involved supporting pupils / students in class during lessons and offering emotional support through various one to one interventions. Working at the primary school allowed me to have a good insight of the primary school education. Currently, I work with Education First Kids Online UK, where I mainly teach young learners on a one-on-one bases. The focus is on English grammar, vocabulary, reading and conversation, as part of EF’s blended learning model. I am also a Preply English /German Tutor and with over 800 teaching hours, I organize, plan and deliver interactive and engaging lessons with a variety of teaching methods depending on individual learning needs. I use a rage of lesson materials provided by Preply as well as other resources available. I am fluent in German (native language) and fluent in English. I am interested in artistic and creative activities, such as art, music and dancing. Over the course of my A levels, I started helping more and more students in either one-on-one settings or in groups of two or three, both, face to face and online. This is the point where I realized that I enjoy teaching; when students younger than me and, in some cases, even my own friends came up to me and told me how well their tests and exams went. I have completed my GCE O' levels with 8 A*s and 2 As and my A' levels with 3 A*s and 1 A. During my O' Levels, I opted for Additional Mathematics and Statistics as additional subjects on top of the regular Mathematics course. The other main subjects in my O' Levels were physics, chemistry and computer science. In A' Levels, I studied Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science and Chemistry.

I am currently a student at University of Birmingham, in my second year of a Geography (BA) degree. I am also part of the music team at Radio society. At Sixthform, I completed 3 A Levels - A* Sociology, A Geography, A* Media. I really enjoyed getting stuck into work at Sixthform and developed an effective plan and timetable for revision. I will use this to base my tutoring on - practicing past questions, learning and perfecting what the marker is looking for aswell as flash cards. I have previous experience tutoring year 10s GCSE Geography and got chosen by my head of year to do this. This summer, I worked as an Activity Leader for a Tech Kids Camp teaching kids how to make and use robots!
