I am currently training to become an English teacher, having gained extensive experience working with pupils with a wide range of needs—including SEN, EAL, and behavioural challenges—through previous roles as a tutor and SEN Teaching Assistant. I believe that every student has the right to a high-challenge education, regardless of their current attainment and specific learning needs. Reading and analysing literature helps us understand how stories capture the beauty and pain of human experience, a skill which every child should have the opportunity to develop. I was awarded a Distinction from University College London, where I completed a Master’s in Comparative Literature with a focus on Modernism and the Philosophy of Language. Prior to that, I earned a Bachelor’s degree in English, after which I worked as a Research Assistant and led a seminar on literature and philosophy.
