Exam Experience: 11+, SATs, GCSE, IELTS, TOEFL, Entrance Exams GCSE: English Language, English Literature Lower Level: English Language and Literature, 11+, SATs, GCSE, EFL and ESL Higher Level: English Language and Literature, GCSE, EFL and ESL, 11+, SATs Preferred Age Group: All ages and levels Languages: English (native); Portuguese (B2); Afrikaans (B1) Hi there, my name is Gabriella and I am an enthusiastic, creative, resourceful, witty, and open-minded young woman from South Africa. Portugal, Scotland and South Africa are currently my bases during the year. Usually travelling, learning, and teaching in these 3 countries. Currently I am recording some Math's videos for a grade 6 textbook used nationwide in S.A. I believe that the best way to learn is to teach, and the best way to teach comes from experience, learning and patience, as well as a bit of interest of course. I am blessed enough to be able to travel and teach wherever I go, all while I expand on my knowledge and help other's expand on theirs. I am dynamic in my vast experience and knowledge - I teach in a way that is personal, yet memorable. I am a very patient, bubbly, yet down-to-earth and compassionate person, which shows in my teaching as well. I am a certified TEFL/TESOL teacher with over 7 years of teaching experience in both formal and informal settings. I have expanded in the fields of the 11+, SATs and of course GCSE, in the English language world of teaching/tutoring, and I'm so excited to get my students to where they want to and need to be in order to excel! Apart from being part of the Go Student team, I teach one-on-one English classes (grammar, conversational, business, presentational, interview/exam prep, language, literature, etc.) to foreign students from beginner levels to more advanced levels, ranging from ages 3 all the way up to more senior years. I am very passionate about teaching and being able to assist the young minds of tomorrow's future achieve the best they can! As a dynamic teacher I use methods that are not entirely by the book - lessons are structured in a way that is meant to feel as if it is natural and not your typical school lesson - it is FUN, yet VALUABLE! I curate lessons and the process of the tutoring according to my student's needs and at their pace. I have many positive long-term relationships with my students and I look forward to creating more, whilst also being the best motivation I can be to help with learning needs. Some of my accreditations include: TEFL and TESOL Certifications for all ages and levels; credited growing experience and vast knowledge in 11+ Exams, SATs, ACTs, IELTS, TOEFL, Business English and Presentation consulting; an Entrepreneurship Course; a Meditation Teacher Training Certification; a Cruise Ship Management Course; and a Language Consultancy Certification in Progress. This, however, is not limited. There is more than meets the eye.

I am patient, friendly and love to support students to help them get the best out of their education and boost their confidence. Below is a list of the subjects and age groups that I tutor. I have experience of exam boards AQA, OCR, WJEC, Eduqas and Edexcel. ENGLISH LANGUAGE I enjoy tutoring English to students in Primary and Secondary school age groups and have plenty of experience of teaching GCSE and A-Level English Language. I have successfully helped many pupils with their SATS tests, 11+, entrance exams, GCSE and A-Level exams. ENGLISH LITERATURE I tutor English Literature up to Higher Level and have plenty of experience of tutoring GCSE English Literature with GoStudent. I've also worked with iGCSE and IB level students. I’d be especially happy to help with 19th century literature at Higher Level, as I studied a Year 3 19th century literature module for my BA (Hons). HISTORY I've tutored pupils studying history at Primary, Secondary and GCSE level. I’m happy to help with social history and Victorian history topics up to A-level, as my specialism is in 19th century socio-economic history. CLASSICAL CIVILISATIONS I am happy to tutor students taking the OCR GCSE and A-Level in Classical Civilisations ART HISTORY I would love to help students of Art History of all age ranges up to Higher Level. I’m a firm believer in the outlook of the Art History in Schools charity that advises teaching Art History from the age of five. Lessons in Art History can help students of other subjects like history, art, architecture, and photography. For those considering going on to learn Art History at University, it is useful to have taster lessons. HUMANITIES Part of my BA (Hons) degree involved studying Humanities modules and I would be happy to tutor students of Humanities up to Higher level. HERITAGE, MUSEUM STUDIES, TOURISM AND TRAVEL Due to my experience with my MA in Heritage Management and working for the National Trust, I am happy to assist anyone studying heritage, tourism and travel courses to Higher Level. My hobbies include creative writing and I enjoy helping other writers, including young adults, by critiquing their creative writing. I have been nominated for a Writing.com Quill Award for being a top reviewer. I write non-fiction about literature and history, for example, my latest book entitled 'Jane Austen’s Easter' and an article in the Brontë Studies journal. I enjoy watercolour painting, baking, sewing and crafting, watching historical and fantasy films, visiting historic sites and gardens, and walking with my dog. I have a lifelong love of learning about literature, history and the arts. I have eight GCSEs: English- A*, English Literature- A*, Psychology- A*,Geography- A*, British Social and Economic History- A, Biology- A, French- A, Mathematics- B. For my A-Levels in Classical Civilisations, English Literature and Art History I gained A* grades. I achieved a First for my BA Hons in Humanities with a specialism in Art History with the Open University, which included taking a 3rd Year module in English Literature. I gained a Distinction for my MA in Heritage Management studied with the University of Birmingham, and was nominated to be the Class Representative for the course. I have been a tutor with GoStudent since 2022. I lecture on literary heritage topics at the University of Chester. I have also given lectures on my historical research at the University of Alberta and the University of Shrewsbury. Working for the National Trust, I interest young people of different ages with history and art history, and mentor work experience students and Duke of Edinburgh students. I volunteer in a local Primary School.

I studied Maths, Physics and PE at A-level then I went to University to study maths with Finance. I played rugby from age 6-18, I still enjoy watching it and occasionally refereeing. In my spare time I enjoy reading, running, going to the gym and training Muay Thai. I graduated in Maths with Finance this summer at Newcastle University. My current job involves going round schools and colleges in the UK and delivering presentations on Newcastle University or science in general. I really enjoy it and it’s made me consider teaching as a long term career. This summer I plan on going back to New York and working as a lifeguard on a summer camp like I did last summer. Following this I plan on moving to Sydney Australia to work in a graduate position. I did my GCSE’s at Kettlethorpe High School. I went to New College Pontefract and did three A-levels in Maths, PE and Physics. I got A*AB. I then did an undergraduate degree at Newcastle University in Maths with Finance. I mainly chose applied modules at university which involved more calculus.
