I have just graduated from Warwick University with a first in my History and Politics degree at Warwick Uni and will be continuing my studies with a Master's in History. I also act as a mentor in both subjects at my University. I take Harvard courses in Computer Science (and small bits of maths) to boost my studies. I read way too many books in my free time and I currently also work as a Library Student Partner at my University which has included working on projects for students at both university and school, as well as working on projects specifically designed for neurodivergent students. Although I appear to be very busy, I really enjoy tutoring and put in the extra time not only to make lesson time but also in preparation and post lesson review time to make the most of each lesson S...

I’m currently a student studying biomedical engineering at university. I have been tutoring for 3 years and enjoy seeing my students progress and improve. I have taught students from primary to secondary schools. Helping students be more confident and improve in their subjects is always very rewarding. I’m a very patient tutor so students can feel comfortable to ask me multiple questions about topics they don’t feel confident in. I change my teaching style accordingly to my student’s preference to ensure they benefit the most of the lesson.

GoStudent Tutor of the Year – 2025 Award English Subject Superstar Award – Most Nominations 2025 English PhD Student Educational Consultant & GoStudent Partner English (year 6+) & Physics Tutor (KS1) English -Preferred Age Group: Above Year 6 (Native & EFL/ESL) -Main Focus: AQA/OCR/Edexcel GCSE, AS, and A Levels -IELTS exam board In my four years of teaching, I’ve observed that most GCSE students overlook the contextual understanding of literary texts, struggle with language and structure analysis, and often face challenges with time management. With over 60 students in 2024, I’ve developed a unique program that addresses both the theoretical and practical aspects of language and literature studies. Over the past 3 years, I’ve helped more than 110 students achieve at least a grade 7 in their GCSEs. Simply put, I know what I'm doing. Physics KS3 In addition to my expertise in language and literature, I’ve also excelled in physics, consistently achieving strong results and helping students grasp complex concepts with ease. About Me Language is not just a tool for communication, it's rather a reflection of how we see ourselves, our world and culture. I recently published my thesis on sexism and gender bias to help promote social justice by teaching politically correct language. In light of my recent research I learned that each student has a unique mind and uses different techniques to learn. Hence, my responsibility entails guiding each individual to unlock their complete potential. In my free time, I’m captivated by football, traveling, and a bit of gaming, which provides a refreshing break from my scholarly activities. ✩Valedictorian Education: PhD Candidate MA High distinction researcher: Sociopragmatics & Classroom Research ✩Attained the top position in Bachelor's degree studies specializing in English Linguistics and Literature ✩Secured the highest ranking in both Masters 1 and Masters 2 studies focusing on Linguistic Research ✩Holder of a Bachelor's degree in Education and recipient of a Teaching Diploma (Masters 1) Participation in Seminars/Webinars: • Oxford University Press' Webinar on Writing Approaches with Fusion in Mind • Noam Chomsky's Webinar addressing Modern Linguistics • Stephen Krashen's Webinar discussing Writing and Publishing • The Art of Complaint: Managing Conflicts • Nonviolent Communication • Exploring Linguistic Controversies • Conducted a seminar focused on the topic of Linguistic Sexism

Hi I am Mary Jo and I love teaching! I have been tutoring 6th to 12th graders for many years, as well as adults, both in English and in Spanish. I enjoy the connection that is developed from teaching and sharing lessons, working on project works and exams. The challenge of helping a student realize their full potential, participate actively in the learning process and finally achieve top results, is one of the best experiences for me. Plans tailored to your interests, necessities and goals are important to reach those results. So we can work together to develop topics and activities in order to make this classes interesting and enjoyable. I like watching series, working out, traveling, drawing and playing the guitar. I also love animals, particularly my two dogs who are always in class with my students! I look forward to being your tutor soon!
