During my studies, I've been lucky enough to have the opportunity to help people in Japan and Russia improve their English skills so I understand how daunting languages can be. Whether you're hoping to improve your school grades, preparing for your exams, or just curious about learning a new language, I can tailor our classes to focus on the areas of language you struggle with the most and encourage relaxed communication from the start so you have the confidence to more freely use either your French, Japanese or Russian. Languages I am fluent in English and Urdu I can speak and understand Hindi and Punjabi SEND experience: I have experience of teaching students with ADHD and dyslexia Preferred Student Age Group I understand that one needs to adapt according to the student's age group- with primary year and middle year students you need to be very engaging and make the lessons as simple as possible whereas with GCSE and A-levels you can count on the student's foundational knowledge and use higher level of pedagogy. I mostly use powerpoint presentations to tutor KS3 students and while helping my students prepare for their 11+ exam, and it has proved to make lessons more engaging for them. However, in case of GCSE and A-levels, I invite my students to the whiteboard so we can solve, draw and practice in real-time. I believe that I am comfortable in working with students of all age groups: KS3, GCSE and A-levels. About Me I am a Civil Engineer pursuing a Master's in Water Resources Management, with over 9 years of experience in the STEM field. Since early 2022, I have taught Physics and Mathematics to Middle Year, GCSE, and A-Level students, with over 90% of my students achieving top grades (7+ in GCSE or A/A* at A-Level). My teaching approach ensures students not only understand the material but also enjoy the learning process. Academically, I have consistently ranked among the top performers: Rank 1 in my College Exam Board, Rank 5 in High School, a finalist in the International Chemistry Olympiad, and recipient of the prestigious Industrial Award during my undergraduate studies. Additionally, I earned a certification from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in "Learning to Teach Online," where I learned how to effectively use technology and innovative teaching techniques. My focus is on ensuring students grasp the "Thought Behind Things," enabling them to confidently approach any question and excel in their exams.

Many of these key skills in teaching have been gained through experience in part-time work as a volunteer assistant teacher, educational programs, and personal projects, while also picking up many skills from my parents given they are also teachers. I am Currently learning Spanish and Arabic and have recently taken up indoor climbing and in particular bouldering as a hobby. I enjoy reading and researching about not only topics associated with Chemical Engineering but on many different subjects, from geography to psychology, particularly through attending seminars and creating strong relationships with those from other disciplines. I enjoy travel and experiencing different cultures. Having travelled to Russia, North America, and Europe. Recently travelled to Geneva to take a guided tour round CERN, observe the LHC and converse with many leading minds at the forefront of scientific discovery.

GCSE: Maths and Physics. A-Level: Maths and Physics. Exam Board Experience I have experience with AQA Maths and Physics at GCSE, OCR Physics at A-Level and Edexcel Maths at A-Level. Preferred Age range is GCSE or A-Level Hi, I’m Darius. I am a recent graduate of Physics with Astrophysics from the University of Bristol with a passion for both physics and mathematics which I hope I can pass to students while making the topics engaging and relevant to the real world. I have always had a great love for physics and science since I was very young when I was amazed by watching the stars in the night sky. I understand that many students feel daunted or overwhelmed by STEM topics like physics and maths, but I hope that I can use my experience and enthusiasm for the subject to find some avenue through which the subject can be understood and hopefully enjoyed. I have always enjoyed the opportunity to teach and explain concepts to people and believe I am skilled at finding some relatable comparison to difficult concepts which help the recipient understand what is trying to be conveyed. I am also very skilled in exam technique, preparation and revision applying many different techniques to achieve the best outcome. This skill is essential for all students during their studies and one which I would help cultivate throughout my time tutoring.
