Hi! My name is David and I tutor maths. I graduated from the University of Leicester in 2023 with a First in Mathematics and have been tutoring A-level students over the last three years. From experience, I can say that the best way of learning maths is by doing maths so the lessons I tutor generally involve a lot of questions which we work through together, with you the student gradually becoming more independent and me, the tutor, making sure to fill in any gaps in theory as we go along. Maths can be a very difficult subject but I hope that you will not only be able to succeed with whatever your goals are with the subject, but to enjoy yourself while doing it!

Levels and Subjects I teach: I’m an English and History teacher with GoStudent. I can teach these at GCSE and A Level. As a professional writer I can offer academic and creative writing classes to adults and higher level students. I am a teacher of environmental science. I have an MSc in Conservation Ecology and extensive field experience in Latin America, Africa and Asia. Having studied and worked as a professional actor, I can also offer Drama/Acting classes to A Level. Languages: Apart from English, I'm also a fluent Spanish speaker. Preferred student age groups: I prefer to work with students from 10 years and older (to adults), however I have worked with students from 6 years up. About me: I have been a professional travel, environment, and creative writer for the last 20 years, and a teacher for the last 9. I have a background in acting, drama and conservation ecology and when it comes to teaching I draw on these skills to make my classes as fun, dynamic, and interesting as possible. I often use roleplay, music, media, and games to enhance students learning and understanding. Learning is so much easier when it’s fun and thought-provoking. I teach students from young children to the executives of large companies. Outside of my roles as teacher and writer I have also worked as an actor, journalist, conservationist and professional mountain and nature tour guide and tour designer. I love wildplaces. When not working, I love hiking, film, theatre, acting, travel, snorkelling, diving, photography, and martial arts. I also run workshops in creative writing.

Currently a cover supply at a school therefore I am up to date with new and current maths and GCSE all science . I have been tutoring maths and all sciences for 7 years. I have experience working with ages from 5-16 and also experienced working with SEN students. Throughout the pandemic, I have been tutoring online, therefore, having an understanding of how to keep students engaged . I also teach 11+ to students who would like to join grammar schools and independent schools and private schools.
