Hi, my name is Sally! I tutor English from primary to A-Level. My sessions are fun, engaging and motivating, and I always focus on the progress you make from session to session. I help tackle tricky topics with real-life examples that are sure to come flooding back in your exam! I've worked with all ages in education, from 4 years old to adults, so no matter your age, ability or level, I'll make sure you're comfortable, confident and capable as we go through sessions together. I teach: Primary English, Secondary English, GCSE Language & Literature, English as a Second Language. I have taught students with: ASD, dyslexia, SEND. I am a qualified teacher (PGCE) with English specialism. I also have a BA (Hons) in Media Studies and an MA in Digital Media & Communications. My experience studying the media has given me an analytical mind, so I'm always digging deep into source material, asking why, and encouraging my learners to do the same. I'm a keen performer, so I have a Diploma in Musical Theatre Performance too!

I love stories and music. This is why I did an English and Music degree, which I really enjoyed. Reading and writing are such essential and valuable skills, so this, along with my love of stories is why I teach English. I think the Harry Potter books are fantastic. My favourite Shakespeare play is ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, as I love the magic of the forest and the fun of the character Puck. I have also studied Ancient Greek. This proved to be a fascinating language; I found it interesting to learn where so many modern words stem from. I used to run my own drama groups; I believe in the importance of self expression and the confidence that this can bring to people. I have been a tour guide, which was great fun. It was an excellent opportunity to see many interesting sites, whilst meeting many wonderful people. I have worked with a wide range of students over the years and believe in the potential of every individual. In my spare time I enjoy playing the piano. I try to write songs with my partner, who is a much better musician than me. It usually ends up with me writing the lyrics and him writing the music! I also enjoy sailing, writing stories and walking my crazy puppy; she is a mix of sheepdogs, so all she wants to do is round everyone up, including the cat! I’m an enthusiastic, dedicated and versatile individual with a positive attitude towards all aspects of education with great communication skills. I’m generally detailed and planned with my work and well organised as I believe it makes a more efficient learning environment. I’m currently studying Biochemistry at Bsc level in university and have a natural interest in biology and chemistry and love for maths.

I'm a student at the university of Bath and if there's one thing you should know about me, it's that I love mathematics. From simple word problems to integrating complex functions, mathematics is a powerful (and beautiful) tool in understanding the world we live in. I Tutor Maths from KS3 up to University Entrance Exams. I also have experience tutoring Further Maths A Level and IB Maths.
