I am really looking forward to helping students to learn online. As a qualified teacher I worked in mainstream education for over 40 years teaching Key Stage 3 Science and also Key Stage 4 Combined Science and Separate Sciences to GCSE level as well as key Stage 5 Physics to Advanced level. I have also taught part of the GCSE Maths specification. After retirement I continued to teach as a Supply teacher at Secondary and Primary level. Also over the last year when classes were isolating at home I taught some classes online. I always enjoy the buzz of teaching and the excitement of experiencing students learning and helping them to progress with their lives. My Physics degree was from Bristol University and my MSc from Birmingham University. In my spare time I like to keep up by read...

Elaine B.
Hi, I’m Elaine Bereña, and I specialize in teaching Mathematics. My teaching journey began as part of my return of service for the scholarship I received during my college years. During that time, I taught various Math subjects, including General Mathematics, Pre-Calculus, Basic Calculus, and Statistics and Probability. In addition to my classroom experience, I also provided tutoring services for college students in higher-level mathematics courses, such as Calculus. Currently, I work as a freelance chat-based tutor, continuing to support students with their learning needs in Mathematics. The satisfaction I feel when a student grasps a challenging concept is incredibly rewarding. I take great pride in contributing to each student’s academic growth, and I view teaching as a reciprocal experience—helping students develop while constantly learning and evolving myself. As an educator, I am passionate about creating an engaging and supportive learning environment. My goal is to make students feel comfortable and confident, encouraging them to share their hobbies, interests, and personal experiences. I incorporate these elements into lessons and practice problems, making the learning process more relatable, enjoyable, and aligned with their unique passions. I hold a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Batangas State University – The National Engineering University in the Philippines. Over the years, I have gained extensive experience in both teaching and the Electrical Engineering industry, with a particular focus on renewable energy. My career spans various roles in engineering, project management, strategic planning, and teaching, equipping me with a versatile skill set and a deep understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of the field. In addition to my technical expertise, I am passionate about bridging the gap between theory and real-world applications, ensuring that students not only develop strong academic foundations but also acquire the practical skills and insights needed to excel in their careers. I believe in providing students with a well-rounded learning experience that prepares them for the dynamic challenges of the engineering world, particularly in emerging sectors like renewable energy. As I continue to grow professionally, I look forward to further contributing to the academic community, sharing my knowledge, and learning from others to enhance both my teaching and industry practice.
