Hi! I'm Jenna, a recently graduated Psychology student with a passion for learning and helping others achieve their full potential. As a determined problem-solver, I have always loved maths - the satisfaction I get from solving a particularly difficult problem is what makes it my favourite! From solving algebraic equations in early GCSE to working out financial budgets for my university life, maths has always been exciting for me. Hopefully I can share this passion with you, and have some fun along the way. I have some tutoring experience across a range of contexts, from helping year 7s struggling with secondary school maths topics, to regularly assisting university students with psychology questions. At the forefront of my focus is a student's inherent grasp of the topic. I will continually check your understanding, and I am willing to approach the topic from a different angle in order to elevate your understanding and knowledge. I am determined to help you in any way that I can so you can achieve your personal academic goals and importantly, boost your confidence in your own mathematical ability. There are no stupid questions in lessons with me - I will encourage you to stick with it and keep asking for help and guidance until you could do it in your sleep! It's not always about top grades: a solid understanding of mathematical concepts and familiarity with numerical rules come first, but good marks almost always come hand in hand with this. I am currently a Computer Science undergraduate who loves Maths and enjoys Physics. I like learning new and exciting things and finding where they come from. I also love to teach subjects that I am passionate about, and have plenty of experience in doing so. I have attended Langley Grammar School for both my GCSEs and A-Levels. I achieved 3A*s in my A-Levels, consisting of Maths, Physics and Further Maths. I have also taken the TMUA for an application, achieving an average of around 6.7. Currently I am studying Computer Science at the University of Bath, pursuing a Master's.

What I will do: As a tutor I am patient and adaptable, but thorough. I would like to learn about you and your learning style so I can adapt my teaching style to you. I believe that everyone is unique in the way that they understand a topic, so if an explanation doesn't work for you, please don't hesitate to tell me. With a more solid understanding of a topic, less memorisation is required and questions start to look easy. Even questions that you aren't prepared for can be doable with the right problem solving and exam technique. I can teach a topic, help with revision or even just do drop-in sessions to solidify understanding. About me: I was lucky to be raised in a household that promoted learning, so my experience of school was working long hours, getting the validation of high grades, and classmates asking me for help. I often spent time revising with classmates and helping them with understanding, and left college with A*A*A*A in maths, further maths, physics and computer science. I also read ahead in these subjects for my EPQ (A*) and my HPQ (A). I have 2 years experience as an instructor in the CCF, and I have been a helping hand academically in Y13 as a house monitor at my boarding school. In my free time I like to do my own coding projects, read about physics & maths (yes, maths can be interesting too!), and I play/write music for the piano.
