Hi! My name is Tom, I'm a 23 year old History graduate with a passion for teaching and assisting others by utilising my extensive knowledge of various periods of history and historical topics. During my studies I have focused on topics such as medicine, American expansionism, British Politics (18thC, 19thC, 20thC and 21stC), Soviet Russia, China and many many more! I am sure that whatever is needed of me, I'll be able to assist to the best of my abilities! Having graduated as part of the Class of 2021, I am now in the process of becoming an English teacher in Guangzhou China! Away from studies, I love all things football as well as taking a keen interest in technology and world affairs. Hi there! I'm Tami Okono, and I'm excited to be your tutor. I'm currently studying Economics in my second year at the University of Leicester. I'm 19 years old and I really like the colour green. When I'm not studying, you can usually find me cooking up something tasty or playing table tennis. Prior to this, I attended Steyning Grammar School in the UK, where I studied Mathematics, Economics, and Psychology for my A-levels. These subjects provided me with a strong analytical foundation and a deeper understanding of human behavior, which are invaluable assets in the field of economics. Before my time in the UK, I completed my early education through secondary school at Greensprings School in Nigeria, where I developed a passion for learning and a global perspective on education.

I have been a tutor since early 2020, when I started this career choice alongside working in the NHS as a mature student nurse at the University of Sheffield. I later went on to make this my full-time career, and in this time have worked with over 300 students, both long term and short term, of all different ages. I have worked both through agencies, and privately, with most of my students being referred through word of mouth. I work primarily with children in Year 5 and 6 in maths, and also children who are preparing for their Grammar School 11+ exam. However, I cover maths, English and science up to Year 8 level, 11+ exam preparation, English as a second language (for adults and children), and home schooling for primary school children. I am a member of MENSA, and I have achieved this because I work very routinely and am able to break things down into step-by-step techniques. These techniques are passed on through my tutoring, especially in maths, and I have had great feedback and results from this. I am very passionate about my career, as I love to educate others, and I believe it is so important to be a good role model and inspiration to young people, to drive them towards wanting to achieving their goals in life. My background is in healthcare, where I studied at the University of Sheffield (Adult Nursing BMedSci). I have also studied Diagnostic Radiography (BSc) at Sheffield Hallam University. I have an Access to Higher Education certificate in Health Sciences where I gained a qualification which included A-Level standard Biology, Chemistry and Maths, and AS-Level Physics.
